Greece to make Covid vaccines mandatory for over-60s

Greece is to make COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for people aged 60 and over, in a drastic move to stem a new surge in coronavirus cases. The measure will come into force each month from 16 January. Anyone in that age group who is not vaccinated faces a 100 euro (£85) fine.

BREAKING: Another Federal Judge Deals Blow To Biden’s Vaccine Mandate, Issues Nationwide Injunction

A federal judge in Louisiana blocked Democrat President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate for health care workers on Tuesday, issuing a nationwide injunction on Biden’s order.

The Daily Advertiser reported:

Louisiana Western District U.S. Judge Terry Doughty’s decision follows an identical ruling Monday from Missouri U.S. District Judge Matthew Schelp, but Schelp’s decision only covered 10 states.

Doughty ruled on the lawsuit led by Republican Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and joined by 13 other states, but Doughty added a nationwide injunction in his ruling.

“If the separation of powers meant anything to the Constitutional framers, it meant that the three necessary ingredients to deprive a person of liberty or property – the power to make rules, to enforce them, and to judge their violations – could never fall into the same hands,” Doughty wrote. “If the executive branch is allowed to usurp the power of the legislative branch to make laws, two of the three powers conferred by our Constitution would be in the same hands. If human nature and history teach anything, it is that civil liberties face grave risks when governments proclaim indefinite states of emergency.”

“During a pandemic such as this one, it is even more important to safeguard the separation of powers set forth in our Constitution to avoid erosion of our liberties. Because the Plaintiff States have satisfied all four elements required for a preliminary injunction to issue, this Court has determined that a preliminary injunction should issue against the Government Defendants,” Doughty continued. “This matter will ultimately be decided by a higher court than this one. However, it is important to preserve the status quo in this case. The liberty interests of the unvaccinated requires nothing less.”

Doughty said that a nationwide injunction was needed because the CMS Mandate was nationwide and “uniformity” needed to be maintained.

“Therefore, the scope of this injunction will be nationwide, except for the states of Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nebraska, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, since these ten states are already under a preliminary injunction order dated November 29, 2021, out of the Eastern District of Missouri,” Doughty said. “This preliminary injunction shall remain in effect pending the final resolution of this case, or until further orders from this Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, or the United States Supreme Court.”

Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry praised the ruling and slammed Biden for “villainiz[ing] our healthcare heroes with his ‘jab or job’ edicts.”

“While our fight is far from over, I am pleased the Court granted preliminary relief against the President’s unconstitutional and immoral attack on not only our healthcare workers but also the access to healthcare services for our poor and elderly,” Landry said. “I will see this case through to the end – fighting every step of the way to prevent the federal government from imposing medical tyranny on our citizens and turning last year’s healthcare heroes into this year’s unemployed.”

BREAKING: Twitter BANS Sharing Images, Videos of ‘Private Individuals’ One Day After New CEO Takes Over

Twitter has announced it will ban the sharing of images and videos of “private individuals” without their consent, leading to fears the platform will crack down on investigative journalism, and stop the exposing of violent riots and other crimes.

On Monday, Jack Dorsey, the co-founder of Twitter, stepped down as CEO, and was immediately replaced by Parag Agrawal, the former Chief Technology Officer for the Big Tech company. Following his appointment, it was discovered that Agrawal had previously claimed that Twitter should not “focus on free speech,” follows a Soros-funded anti-free speech organization, and also has liked tweets that compare conservatives to ISIS, suggest people give money to BLM rioters, and liken COVID arguments to a “religious war.”

Only one day later, Twitter announced extremely strict new censorship rules. The Big Tech platform announced that they were expanding their “private information policy,” designed to stop people from being doxed on Twitter, to also include photos and videos that are posted of “private individuals” without their consent.

“There are growing concerns about the misuse of media and information that is not available elsewhere online as a tool to harass, intimidate, and reveal the identities of individuals,” Twitter Safety wrote in a blog post. “Sharing personal media, such as images or videos, can potentially violate a person’s privacy, and may lead to emotional or physical harm.” They confirmed that if a person in said media, or an “authorized representative” contacted the site, they will remove it.

Unsurprisingly, the immediate reaction to the news was shock and dismay from many people, who were concerned that Twitter would use their new private individual media rule to enforce a radical left-wing agenda, including shutting down tweets from conservative media outlets who are performing investigative journalism, or stop people from sharing footage of violent BLM or antifa protests.

In fact, the blog from Twitter Safety seemed to confirm this bias in their agenda, writing that “the misuse of private media can affect everyone, but can have a disproportionate effect on women, activists, dissidents, and members of minority communities,” and that they might not shut down images or videos if “mainstream/traditional media” was covering a story with the relevant media.”

"This policy is not applicable to media featuring public figures or individuals when media and accompanying Tweet text are shared in the public interest or add value to public discourse."

Guess who gets to decide whether or not it is in the public interest?

A President Betrayed by Bureaucrats: Scott Atlas’s Masterpiece on the Covid Disaster

I’m a voracious reader of Covid books but nothing could have prepared me for Scott Atlas’s A Plague Upon Our House, a full and mind-blowing account of the famed scientist’s personal experience with the Covid era and a luridly detailed account of his time at the White House. The book is hot fire, from page one to the last, and will permanently affect your view of not only this pandemic and the policy response but also the workings of public health in general.

Atlas’s book has exposed a scandal for the ages. It is enormously valuable because it fully blows up what seems to be an emerging fake story involving a supposedly Covid-denying president who did nothing vs. heroic scientists in the White House who urged compulsory mitigating measures consistent with prevailing scientific opinion. Not one word of that is true. Atlas’s book, I hope, makes it impossible to tell such tall tales without embarrassment.

Anyone who tells you this fictional story (including Deborah Birx) deserves to have this highly credible treatise tossed in his direction. The book is about the war between real science (and genuine public health), with Atlas as the voice for reason both before and during his time in the White House, vs. the enactment of brutal policies that never stood any chance of controlling the virus while causing tremendous damage to the people, to human liberty, to children in particular, but also to billions of people around the world.

For the reader, the author is our proxy, a reasonable and blunt man trapped in a world of lies, duplicity, backstabbing, opportunism, and fake science. He did his best but could not prevail against a powerful machine that cares nothing for facts, much less outcomes.

If you have heretofore believed that science drives pandemic public policy, this book will shock you. Atlas’s recounting of the unbearably poor thinking on the part of government-based “infectious disease experts” will make your jaw drop (thinking, for example, of Birx’s off-the-cuff theorizing about the relationship between masking and controlling case spreads).

Throughout the book, Atlas points to the enormous cost of the machinery of lockdowns, the preferred method of Anthony Fauci and Deborah Birx: missed cancer screenings, missed surgeries, nearly two years of educational losses, bankrupted small business, depression and drug overdoses, overall citizen demoralization, violations of religious freedom, all while public health massively neglected the actual at-risk population in long-term care facilities. Essentially, they were willing to dismantle everything we called civilization in the name of bludgeoning one pathogen without regard to the consequences.

The fake science of population-wide “models” drove policy instead of following the known information about risk profiles. “The one unusual feature of this virus was the fact that children had an extraordinarily low risk,” writes Atlas. “Yet this positive and reassuring news was never emphasized. Instead, with total disregard of the evidence of selective risk consistent with other respiratory viruses, public health officials recommended draconian isolation of everyone.”

“Restrictions on liberty were also destructive by inflaming class distinctions with their differential impact,” he writes, “exposing essential workers, sacrificing low-income families and kids, destroying single-parent homes, and eviscerating small businesses, while at the same time large companies were bailed out, elites worked from home with barely an interruption, and the ultra-rich got richer, leveraging their bully pulpit to demonize and cancel those who challenged their preferred policy options.”

In the midst of continued chaos, in August 2020, Atlas was called by Trump to help, not as a political appointee, not as a PR man for Trump, not as a DC fixer but as the only person who in nearly a year of unfolding catastrophe had a health-policy focus. He made it clear from the outset that he would only say what he believed to be true; Trump agreed that this was precisely what he wanted and needed. Trump got an earful and gradually came around to a more rational view than that which caused him to wreck the American economy and society with his own hands and against his own instincts.

In Task Force meetings, Atlas was the only person who showed up with studies and on-the-ground information as opposed to mere charts of infections easily downloadable from popular websites. “A bigger surprise was that Fauci did not present scientific research on the pandemic to the group that I witnessed. Likewise, I never heard him speak about his own critical analysis of any published research studies. This was stunning to me. Aside from intermittent status updates about clinical trial enrollments, Fauci served the Task Force by offering an occasional comment or update on vaccine trial participant totals, mostly when the VP would turn to him and ask.”

When Atlas spoke up, it was almost always to contradict Fauci/Birx but he received no backing during meetings, only to have many people in attendance later congratulate him for speaking out. Still, he did, by virtue of private meetings, have a convert in Trump himself, but by then it was too late: not even Trump could prevail against the wicked machine he had permissioned into operation.

It’s a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington story but applied to matters of public health. From the outset of this disease panic, policy came to be dictated by two government bureaucrats (Fauci and Birx) who, for some reason, were confident in their control over media, bureaucracies, and White House messaging, despite every attempt by the president, Atlas, and a few others to get them to pay attention to the actual science about which Fauci/Birx knew and care little.

When Atlas would raise doubts about Birx, Jared Kushner would repeatedly assure him that “she is 100% MAGA.” Yet we know for certain that this is not true. We know from a different book on the subject that she only took the position with the anticipation that Trump would lose the presidency in the November election. That’s hardly a surprise; it’s the bias expected from a career bureaucrat working for a deep-state institution.

Fortunately, we now have this book to set the record straight. It gives every reader an inside look at the workings of a system that wrecked our lives. If the book finally declines to offer an explanation for the hell that was visited upon us – every day we still ask the question why? – it does provide an accounting of the who, when, where, and what. Tragically, too many scientists, media figures, and intellectuals in general went along. Atlas’s account shows exactly what they signed up to defend, and it’s not pretty.

The cliche that kept coming to mind as I read is “breath of fresh air.” That metaphor describes the book perfectly: blessed relief from relentless propaganda. Imagine yourself trapped in an elevator with stultifying air in a building that is on fire and the smoke gradually seeps in from above. Someone is in there with you and he keeps assuring you that everything is fine, when it is obviously not.

That’s a pretty good description of how I felt from March 12, 2020 and onward. That was the day that President Trump spoke to the nation and announced that there would be no more travel from Europe. The tone in his voice was spooky. It was obvious that more was coming. He had clearly fallen sway to extremely bad advice, perhaps he was willing to push lockdowns as a plan to deal with a respiratory virus that was already widespread in the US from perhaps 5 to 6 months earlier.

It was the day that the darkness descended. A day later (March 13), the HHS distributed its lockdown plans for the nation. That weekend, Trump met for many hours with Anthony Fauci, Deborah Birx, son-in-law Jared Kushner, and only a few others. He came around to the idea of shutting down the American economy for two weeks. He presided over the calamitous March 16, 2020, press conference, at which Trump promised to beat the virus through general lockdowns.

Of course he had no power to do that directly but he could urge it to happen, all under the completely delusional promise that doing so would solve the virus problem. Two weeks later, the same gang persuaded him to extend the lockdowns.

Trump went along with the advice because it was the only advice he was fed at the time. They made it appear that the only choice that Trump had – if he wanted to beat the virus – was to wage war on his own policies that were pushing for a stronger, healthier economy. After surviving two impeachment attempts, and beating back years of hate from a nearly united media afflicted by severe derangement syndrome, Trump was finally hornswoggled.

Atlas writes: “On this highly important criterion of presidential management—taking responsibility to fully take charge of policy coming from the White House—I believe the president made a massive error in judgment. Against his own gut feeling, he delegated authority to medical bureaucrats, and then he failed to correct that mistake.”

The truly tragic fact that both Republicans and Democrats do not want spoken about is that this whole calamity is that did indeed begin with Trump’s decision. On this point, Atlas writes:
Yes, the president initially had gone along with the lockdowns proposed by Fauci and Birx, the 'fifteen days to slow the spread,' even though he had serious misgivings. But I still believe the reason that he kept repeating his one question—'Do you agree with the initial shutdown?'—whenever he asked questions about the pandemic was precisely because he still had misgivings about it.
Large parts of the narrative are devoted to explaining precisely how and to what extent Trump had been betrayed. “They had convinced him to do exactly the opposite of what he would naturally do in any other circumstance,” Atlas writes, that is
...to disregard his own common sense and allow grossly incorrect policy advice to prevail…. This president, widely known for his signature 'You’re fired!' declaration, was misled by his closest political intimates. All for fear of what was inevitable anyway—skewering from an already hostile media. And on top of that tragic misjudgment, the election was lost anyway. So much for political strategists.
There are so many valuable parts to the story that I cannot possibly recount them all. The language is brilliant, e.g. he calls the media “the most despicable group of unprincipled liars one could ever imagine.” He proves that assertion in page after page of shocking lies and distortions, mostly driven by political goals.

I was particularly struck by his chapter on testing, mainly because that whole racket mystified me throughout. From the outset, the CDC bungled the testing part of the pandemic story, attempting to keep the tests and process centralized in DC at the very time when the entire nation was in panic. Once that was finally fixed, months too late, mass and indiscriminate PCR testing became the desiderata of success within the White House. The problem was not just with the testing method:
Fragments of dead virus hang around and can generate a positive test for many weeks or months, even though one is not generally contagious after two weeks. Moreover, PCR is extremely sensitive. It detects minute quantities of virus that do not transmit infection…. Even the New York Times wrote in August that 90 percent or more of positive PCR tests falsely implied that someone was contagious. Sadly, during my entire time at the White House, this crucial fact would never even be addressed by anyone other than me at the Task Force meetings, let alone because for any public recommendation, even after I distributed data proving this critical point.
The other problem is the wide assumption that more testing (however inaccurate) of whomever, whenever was always better. This model of maximizing tests seemed like a leftover from the HIV/AIDS crisis in which tracing was mostly useless in practice but at least made some sense in theory. For a widespread and mostly wild respiratory disease transmitted the way a cold virus is transmitted, this method was hopeless from the beginning. It became nothing but make work for tracing bureaucrats and testing enterprises that in the end only provided a fake metric of “success” that served to spread public panic.

Early on, Fauci had clearly said that there was no reason to get tested if you had no symptoms. Later, that common-sense outlook was thrown out the window and replaced with an agenda to test as many people as possible regardless of risk and regardless of symptoms. The resulting data enabled Fauci/Birx to keep everyone in a constant state of alarm. More test positivity to them implied only one thing: more lockdowns. Businesses needed to close harder, we all needed to mask harder, schools needed to stay closed longer, and travel needed to be ever more restricted. That assumption became so entrenched that not even the president’s own wishes (which had changed from Spring to Summer) made any difference.

Atlas’s first job, then, was to challenge this whole indiscriminate testing agenda. To his mind, testing needed to be about more than accumulating endless amounts of data, much of it without meaning; instead, testing should be directed toward a public-health goal. The people who needed tests were the vulnerable populations, particularly those in nursing homes, with the goal of saving lives among those who were actually threatened with severe outcomes. This push to test, contact trace, and quarantine anyone and everyone regardless of known risk was a huge distraction, and also caused huge disruption in schooling and enterprise.

To fix it meant changing the CDC guidelines. Atlas’s story of attempting to do that is eye-opening. He wrestled with every manner of bureaucrat and managed to get new guidelines written, only to find that they had been mysteriously reverted to the old guidelines one week later. He caught the “error” and insisted that his version prevail. Once they were issued by the CDC, the national press was all over it, with the story that the White House was pressuring the scientists at the CDC in terrible ways. After a week-long media storm, the guidelines changed yet again. All of Atlas’s work was made null.

Talk about discouraging! It was also Atlas’s first full experience in dealing with deep-state machinations. It was this way throughout the lockdown period, a machinery in place to implement, encourage, and enforce endless restrictions but no one person in particular was there to take responsibility for the policies or the outcomes, even as the ostensible head of state (Trump) was on record both publicly and privately opposing the policies that no one could seem to stop.

As an example of this, Atlas tells the story of bringing some massively important scientists to the White House to speak with Trump: Martin Kulldorff, Jay Bhattacharya, Joseph Ladapo, and Cody Meissner. People around the president thought the idea was great. But somehow the meeting kept being delayed. Again and again. When it finally went ahead, the schedulers only allowed for 5 minutes. But once they met with Trump himself, the president had other ideas and prolonged the meeting for an hour and a half, asking the scientists all kinds of questions about viruses, policy, the initial lockdowns, the risks to individuals, and so on.

The president was so impressed with their views and knowledge – what a dramatic change that must have been for him – that he invited filming to be done plus pictures to be taken. He wanted to make it a big public splash. It never happened. Literally. White House press somehow got the message that this meeting never happened. The first anyone will have known about it other than White House employees is from Atlas’s book.

Two months later, Atlas was instrumental in bringing in not only two of those scientists but also the famed Sunetra Gupta of Oxford. They met with the HHS secretary but this meeting too was buried in the press. No dissent was allowed. The bureaucrats were in charge, regardless of the wishes of the president.

Another case in point was during Trump’s own bout with Covid in early October. Atlas was nearly sure that he would be fine but he was forbidden from talking to the press. The entire White House communications office was frozen for four days, with no one speaking to the press. This was against Trump’s own wishes. This left the media to speculate that he was on his deathbed, so when he came back to the White House and announced that Covid is not to be feared, it was a shock to the nation. From my own point of view, this was truly Trump’s finest moment. To learn of the internal machinations happening behind the scenes is pretty shocking.

I can’t possibly cover the wealth of material in this book, and I expect this brief review to be one of several that I write. I do have a few disagreements. First, I think the author is too uncritical toward Operation Warp Speed and doesn’t really address how the vaccines were wildly oversold, to say nothing of growing concerns about safety, which were not addressed in the trials. Second, he seems to approve of Trump’s March 12th travel restrictions, which struck me as brutal and pointless, and the real beginning of the unfolding disaster. Third, Atlas inadvertently seems to perpetuate the distortion that Trump recommended ingesting bleach during a press conference. I know that this was all over the papers. But I’ve read the transcript of that press conference several times and find nothing like this. Trump actually makes clear that he was speaking about cleaning surfaces. This might be yet another case of outright media lies.

All that aside, this book reveals everything about the insanity of 2020 and 2021, years in which good sense, good science, historical precedent, human rights, and concerns for human liberty were all thrown into the trash, not just in the US but all over the world.

Atlas summarizes the big picture:
...in considering all the surprising events that unfolded in this past year, two in particular stand out. I have been shocked at the enormous power of government officials to unilaterally decree a sudden and severe shutdown of society—to simply close businesses and schools by edict, restrict personal movements, mandate behavior, regulate interactions with our family members, and eliminate our most basic freedoms, without any defined end and with little accountability.
Atlas is correct that “the management of this pandemic has left a stain on many of America’s once noble institutions, including our elite universities, research institutes and journals, and public health agencies. Earning it back will not be easy.”

Internationally, we have Sweden as an example of a country that (mostly) kept its sanity. Domestically, we have South Dakota as an example of a place that stayed open, preserving freedom throughout. And thanks in large part to Atlas’s behind-the-scenes work, we have the example of Florida, whose governor did care about the actual science and ended up preserving freedom in the state even as the elderly population there experienced the greatest possible protection from the virus.

We all owe Atlas an enormous debt of gratitude, for it was he who persuaded the Florida governor to choose the path of focussed protection as advocated by the Great Barrington Declaration, which Atlas cites as the “single document that will go down as one of the most important publications in the pandemic, as it lent undeniable credibility to focused protection and provided courage to thousands of additional medical scientists and public health leaders to come forward.”

Atlas experienced the slings, arrows, and worse. The media and the bureaucrats tried to shut him up, shut him down, and body bag him professionally and personally. Cancelled, meaning removed from the roster of functional, dignified human beings. Even colleagues at Stanford University joined in the lynch mob, much to their disgrace. And yet this book is that of a man who has prevailed against them.

In that sense, this book is easily the most crucial first-person account we have so far. It is gripping, revealing, devastating for the lockdowners and their vaccine-mandating successors, and a true classic that will stand the test of time. It’s simply not possible to write the history of this disaster without a close examination of this erudite first-hand account.

Austrians Who Refuse COVID Vaccine Could Face Prison, Health Officials Warn

(by Jeremy Loffredo | Children’s Health Defense) – In the country with the “strictest vaccine mandates in the world,” Austrians who refuse the COVID vaccine could face serious penalties — including prison. “Austria marks the first time a government has issued a mandate for all its citizens,” said journalist and political commentator Kim Iversen, on the latest episode of The Hill’s “Rising.” Iversen told viewers the Austrian government “gave people the illusion of choice,” but because people didn’t get vaccinated voluntarily, “now they’re going to be forced into it.” Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg announced the mandate last week, telling the Austrian people: […]

‘Nothing is Off the Table’: Jen Psaki Warns Americans the Worst Vaccine Mandate Yet May Be Coming

(by Kyle Becker | Becker News) – White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has a track record of providing spoiler alerts for the Biden administration’s coming authoritarian policies. At a Monday press conference, Psaki once again played coy, while saying that “nothing is off the table” when it comes to a vaccine mandate for domestic travel. In regards to an interstate travel, CNN’s Kaitlin Collins asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki: “Is he now considering mandating vaccinations to fly domestically?” “Well, I think what you heard the President say — I think — it was hard to hear the question, so […]

Massachusetts and possibly 15-20 other states working to implement digital vaccine passports

(by Allison Kuznitz | Masslive.com) – Massachusetts could soon roll out a digital COVID-19 vaccination passport, Gov. Charlie Baker said Monday afternoon on GBH News’ Boston Public Radio. Massachusetts is part of a coalition of states — somewhere between 15 and 20, Baker estimated — working to develop the technology. Baker displayed his personal QR code, attesting to his vaccination status, to hosts Jim Braude and Margery Eagan. “This is my proof that I’ve been vaccinated. It’s easy to access, it’s a universal standard and we’ve been working with a bunch of other states,” Baker said, adding the passport could […]

Hello world, Omicron hasn’t made Africa more dangerous!

Early last week, South African scientists announced their discovery of a dramatically mutated variant of the virus that causes Covid-19. By the end of the week, the World Health Organization had designated it as a variant of concern and christened it Omicron, the latest stop on the virus’s march through the Greek alphabet.

Countries around the world fell over each other to announce limits to incoming traffic from South Africa and nearby countries. As of this writing, nearly every non-African country has blocked traffic from southern Africa. Some have even closed up to the whole continent.

Many Africans protested. To us, it seemed as if the world was moving a little too fast, relative to the threat, to isolate us. It felt like a betrayal of the candour of South Africa, which, unlike China at the outset of the pandemic, swiftly identified and reported the new variant without obfuscation.

As if that were not enough, Western media misinterpreted the uproar. The New York Times, for instance, chalked it up to Africans being frustrated with the offending countries for their failure to “deliver vaccines and the resources needed to administer them.”

Writing in The Guardian, Gordon Brown, the WHO’s ambassador for global health financing and former prime minister of the United Kingdom, attributed (without any evidence) the emergence of Omicron in Africa to the region’s low vaccination rates, itself a consequence of the vaccine nationalism of developed countries.

In essence, they made up a sin ostensibly committed by their selfish governments and offered self-righteous mea culpas for it. Obsessed with the idea that everyone needs to get vaccinated to end the pandemic, they missed the point about Africans’ indignation.

I’m here to set the record straight: the protests weren’t about vaccines.

There were two reasons. The first is that the media misreported the new variant, giving the impression that it had originated in South Africa. South African scientists were the first to sequence it, but it had already been circulating in other parts of the world. There is still no evidence that South Africa is the epicentre of Omicron. Yet, non-African governments whipped themselves into an irrational and discriminatory frenzy.

Secondly, supporting the discrimination charge, these countries banned flights from large parts of Africa when only South Africa and Botswana had confirmed Omicron cases on the continent, but they didn’t ban travellers from the many countries in Europe and elsewhere with cases of the variant and much higher overall case counts.

Other African countries had a much more measured response. Kenya declared that it would neither close its borders to South African visitors nor do anything to minimise international travel. The government intends, instead, to ramp up surveillance and beef up its capacity to handle an upsurge in case numbers.

In short, Africans want the rest of the world to stop treating the continent as if it’s some disease-ridden inconsequential corner, to be quarantined away, as if it only matters when it is infective.

At the beginning of the pandemic experts predicted that Africa would be the worst-hit part of the world. They took it for granted that our rickety healthcare systems would buckle under pressure. International media, like wild dogs circling a wounded buffalo, sharpened their pencils and prepared their angles, awaiting astronomical death tolls and ghastly scenes of suffering.

When the initial wave of the pandemic broke on Africa’s shores, the disappointment of journalists and their editors was palpable. Since then, whenever a new wave has begun to gather, they have perked up their ears, salivating for the catastrophe that’s sure to come, only to be disappointed once again when it inevitably breaks.

They so desperately want to tell the story of Africa’s suffering that they are still perplexed that we haven’t dropped dead like flies yet. Omicron gave them a teeny chance to tell the story, and off they ran with it, leaving facts lying battered on the ground, victims along with the Africans that got isolated as a result.

The obsession with Africa’s suffering serves those who claim to care more than those they claim to care about. If Africa suffers, the cavalry can gallop in to save the day. It’s a narrative that even the Chinese are starting to use as a chip in their geopolitical tussle with the West, if movies like Wolf Warrior II are anything to go by.

The problem is that this is not borne out by the facts. So the developed world’s elites are angling for the next best thing, which is to claim the credit for blunting the effect of the pandemic in Africa. Hence their insistence on shaming their governments into sharing more doses of the vaccines.

Meanwhile, ordinary Africans couldn’t care less about the vaccines. In Kenya, where I live, only about 6 percent of the population is fully vaccinated. Doses of the vaccine are readily available. Vaccination centres are open and accessible to most people. But the queues are short. So short, in fact, that the health ministry is mulling over an ill-advised and likely-to-fail mandate.

At the same time, new daily Covid-19 case numbers have flatlined into the low double digits since the Delta spike in August. Deaths have declined to less than two per day. People are hugging and shaking hands and going about unmasked. And we no longer have a curfew. The same is true of increasingly larger parts of Africa.

With due respect to the dead, Covid-19 has failed to make a significant dent in Africa. While we aren’t quite out of it and must not gloat, there is no indication that this trend is going to reverse. We have suffered more from the measures our governments instituted to control the outbreak, measures that were modelled unthinkingly on what the rest of the world did.

Increasingly, it seems as if the credit for the retreat of the pandemic in Africa will go unclaimed, because only God knows why we’re getting off so easy. This must offend the egos of the heroic elites in the developed world. But the story isn’t about them. It never really has been.

The Narratives Fail

Guest Post by Jim Kunstler

Inevitably, it will be here. The question is will we be prepared for it?”
— Dr. Fauci on Omicron

Does it finally look like Dr. Anthony Fauci is trying to carry out an assisted suicide of the United States? On the Sunday Morning TV chat circuit, the White House Covid-19 czar (a.k.a. The Science) declared that the new Omicron variant is “a clarion call” to get people vaccinated. Is that so, Dr. Fauci? Considering how well your “vaccines” work? And how many people have been maimed and killed by their side-effects? (More than all other vaccines combined over the past thirty years.) And how you knavishly outlawed effective and cheap early treatment protocols that would have put Covid-19 down by June of 2020 (and saved half-a-million lives). The Science also called on Sunday for the general re-masking of the public and averred to the possibility of more lockdowns ahead. And just at Christmas-time, you understand. What a nose this rascal has for politics!

Senator Ted Cruz (TX) called for the Department of Justice to prosecute The Science for lying to Congress, which The Science smugly laughed off, perhaps knowing that his world-beating, maliciously incompetent leadership in the Coronavirus saga would end up incriminating and delegitimizing the entire corrupt, Pharma-captured US public health bureaucracy, with collateral damage everywhere else in government — and therefore that no authority in the land would dare to swear him under oath in a court-of-law. Or so he may think for now.

Meanwhile, Virologist Barry Schoub, Chairman of South Africa’s Ministerial Advisory Committee on COVID-19 Vaccines, declared the new Omicron Coronavirus “mild.” Could it be that the whole hoary Covid-19 narrative is falling apart now? Could Dr. Fauci and his sleazy associates in the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the WHO, the Big Pharma C-suites, the grifting university research labs, the despicable social media combine, and yet more sinister outfits such as the CIA and the WEF — might this unholy host of villains and fixers find themselves on-the-run? And might Omicron represent for them some final grasp at the last straw of narrative control?

It’s pretty clear that citizens of the liberal democracies are fed up with being pushed around, jabbed, driven out of business, lied-to, gaslighted, and deprived of their livelihoods. They increasingly can’t believe any of the bullshit issued by the medical establishment and its political hand-maidens, and why should they? The countries with the highest vaccination rates also happen to be the ones with the highest Covid cases. Countries with low vaccination rates and widespread use of early treatment with common drugs have low Covid cases. Two weeks after Japan okayed the use of Ivermectin in mid-November of this year, cases fell from a big surge down to near zero. What part of that is complicated?

The people are out in the streets all over the world now. They have only begun to express their rage at the Covid narrative-driven new fashion for tyrannical government — government not of, for, and by the people, but over, on top of, and in spite of them. In Austria, an opéra bouffe toyland suddenly inflamed with Nazi-style strong-arming of its own citizens, the cops and the army may be switching their allegiance away from the government to the folks moiling in the streets. This is exactly the kind of country and the type of situation where governments fall. And when Austria goes down, others will follow.

Next door, outgoing German health minister, Jens Spahn, issued a warning that by the end of winter “pretty much everyone in Germany will be vaccinated, recovered or dead.” Was that supposed to be reassuring? Somewhere out in the universe’s recurve of time, the spirit of Dr. Josef Mengele is doing an end-zone dance. Down in Australia two frisky teens called in a threat to behead the premier (i.e., governor) of West Australia (capital: Perth). The world is suddenly remembering the back-story behind the old political phrase heads will roll, namely, what happens to the folks-in-charge when they piss-off enough of the people whose affairs they are responsible for running.

More to the point, to understand what is happening in America, just catch a glimpse of what has happened. By 2019, a rogue faction of bureaucrats was bent on shoving President Donald Trump off the game-board at all costs. Trump had become the fixed object of every anxiety neurosis that afflicted the thinking-governing-and-chattering classes. Conveniently, China also needed to get rid of the Mr. Trump, for interfering with their plans to dominate the planet.

The Trump years were the narrative-formation years, as one plot after another, with their rafts of cockamamie stories — RussiaGate, UkraineGate, TaxGate — was hatched and then elaborated by the worker bees in Cable News and the WashPo / New York Times nexus. Imagine their frustration that those gambits failed. But all that narrative-shaping prepared them for the kill-shot when China gifted the world with Covid-19 (Dr. Anthony Fauci acting as midwife in the delivery). Dr. Fauci then went straight to work turning the splendid opportunity of the pandemic into history’s all-time greatest mindfuck. He did everything possible to prevent public health from controlling the disease, and then foisted on the terrorized public a set of dangerous, untested, gene-therapy treatments that he enjoyed a share of the profits in. His criminal acts have been revealed and fully documented and now he will fall. Wait for it.

The Covid-19 mindfuck worked to distract the country’s attention from the activities of characters like Lawfare avatar Marc Elias of the DNC’s Perkins Coie law firm and Marc Zuckerberg of Facebook, going all around the swing states in 2020 with sacks full of money, arranging election procedures such as mass mail-in voting with no voter ID to facilitate the victory of the obviously non compos mentis empty shell of “Joe Biden”. That did work. Just what the country needed, too, at this perilous moment of history: a fake head-of-state. The people mostly played along for two years until very lately, seeing at last how they have been robbed of their health, their wealth, their future, and very likely their children’s futures. Watch them now as they turn on the ones who made all that happen.

BREAKING: Federal Judge Blocks Biden Vaccine Mandate For Health Workers In 10 States

Judge Matthew Schelp of the Eastern District of Missouri has issued a preliminary injunction for workers at Medicare- and Medicaid-certified medical facilities in Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nebraska, Wyoming, and North and South Dakota. The court’s decision deals a serious blow to left-wing activists’ claims that workers can be forced to take the vaccine booster shots.

The judge’s order states, “IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Defendants are preliminarily enjoined from the implementation and enforcement of 86 Fed. Reg. 61,555 (Nov. 5, 2021), the Interim Final Rule with Comment Period entitled Medicare and Medicaid Programs; Omnibus COVID19 Health Care Staff Vaccination, against any and all Medicare and Medicaidcertified providers and suppliers within the States of Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming pending a trial on the merits of this action or until further order of this Court.

“Defendants shall immediately cease all implementation or enforcement of the Interim Final Rule with Comment Period as to any Medicare and Medicaidcertified providers and suppliers within the States of Alaska, Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming,’ the court added.

The Biden regime’s attempt to enforce vaccine mandates on companies with over 100 employees has also ran into a roadblock, as previously reported by National File:

On its website, OSHA now offers a disclaimer above any additional information: “On November 12, 2021, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit granted a motion to stay OSHA’s COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Emergency Temporary Standard, published on November 5, 2021 (86 Fed. Reg. 61402) (“ETS”).”

The regulatory body explains, “The court ordered that OSHA ‘take no steps to implement or enforce’ the ETS ‘until further court order.’” Accordingly, “OSHA has suspended activities related to the implementation and enforcement of the ETS pending future developments in the litigation.”

Report: South African doctor who first noticed Omicron variant says symptoms 'unusual but mild'

As panic circles the globe over a new coronavirus variant first reported in South Africa, the doctor who first noticed the variant is asking for a dose of calm.

Dr. Angelique Coetzee said that the unusual infections she was seeing in her private practice in Pretoria earlier this month presented "unusual but mild" symptoms, according to the Telegraph.

Coetzee, chair of the South African Medical Association, said it was “premature” to say the virus was going to mushroom into a global health crisis, according to the Guardian. On Friday, the World Health Association dubbed the Omicron variant a variant of concern. President Joe Biden then slapped travel restrictions on multiple African countries.

“It’s all speculation at this stage. It may be it’s highly transmissible, but so far the cases we are seeing are extremely mild,” she said.

“Maybe two weeks from now I will have a different opinion, but this is what we are seeing. So are we seriously worried? No. We are concerned and we watch what’s happening. But for now we’re saying, ‘OK: there’s a whole hype out there. [We’re] not sure why.’”

#OmicronVariant "presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tiredness for a day or two not feeling well. [...] as medical practitioners, we do not know why so much hype is being driven"

Angelique Coetzee, chairwoman of SAMAhttps://t.co/rYMOy1QHYY

— Argo Nerd (@argonerd) November 27, 2021

Coetzee said she would like more people to get vaccinated.

“Unfortunately, it’s not only the responsibility of the government; it’s the responsibility of the public as well … You can only ask people so many times to go and get vaccinated, and if you don’t listen, then there’s consequences, and then you have to take the consequences,” she said.

She said that the patients she treated came from very different backgrounds and had intense fatigue. None had a loss of test or smell. A 6-year-old child she treated had a high pulse rate.

“Their symptoms were so different and so mild from those I had treated before,” she said, according to the Telegraph.

Coetzee said that after she treated a family of four who tested positive for the virus and had complete exhaustion, she alerted South Africa’s vaccine advisory committee.

About two dozen people have exhibited symptoms of the new variant, she said, adding that they were mostly healthy men who came to her “feeling so tired.” About half of those she treated were not vaccinated.

“We had one very interesting case, a kid, about 6 years old, with a temperature and a very high pulse rate, and I wondered if I should admit her. But when I followed up two days later, she was so much better,” Coetzee said.

"Round about the 18 November, I all of a sudden encountered unusual symptoms" in a patient who was "extremely tired for the past two days"

Older individuals with conditions such as diabetes or heart disease could face more complications from the variant than the people she treated, she said.

“What we have to worry about now is that when older, unvaccinated people are infected with the new variant, and if they are not vaccinated, we are going to see many people with a severe [form of the] disease,” she said.

South African officials have voiced anger at the restrictions slapped on the nation.

“The reaction of countries to impose travel bans are completely against the norms and standards as guided by the World Health Organization,” said Joe Phaahla, the country's health minister, the Guardian reported. “The same countries that are enacting this kind of knee-jerk, draconian reaction are battling their own waves.”

Otto de Vries, CEO of the Association of Southern African Travel Agents, called the restrictions a “a knee-jerk reaction."

Americans warned: Prepare for vaccine mandate to board a plane

Evasive remarks Sunday by Dr. Anthony Fauci regarding vaccine mandates for domestic air travel and more lockdowns in America make both of those possibilities a certainty, warns commentator Todd Starnes.

"Everything is on the table," Fauci told Chuck Todd on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"In other words, prepare for more lockdowns and be prepared to show your vaccine papers to board jetliners," Starnes wrote in a brief analysis of Fauci's statements.

"The Democrats and Health Overlords are tyrants and they crave power. They know that the vast majority of the American people will do as they say," Starnes continued.

"They know that we will shut down our businesses and our churches and our schools for the sake of public safety.

"So, yes – there will be lockdowns. And we have no one to blame but ourselves."

Israel bans foreigners after single case of new COVID strain appears

Fortress Israel is banning foreigners from entry in response to the Omicron strain of the coronavirus.

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said the embattled nation would “act fast, early, hard and strong” after one case of the new variant was confirmed in Israel, according to the Jerusalem Post. Seven potential Omicron cases are under investigation.

The tough Israeli rules say that anyone seeking entry to Israel, even vaccinated Israelis, must go into isolation for three days after entering the country. Unvaccinated Israeli citizens will be put in isolation for seven days.

“We are not taking any chances,” Bennett said. “We want to stop this early ... We want to prevent or delay the entrance of this variant into Israel.”

2) in HK, #B11529 2/: fortunately caught by 🇭🇰’s quarantine system for international arrivals. But that’s where the good news ends— #B11259 was barely caught by a 4th PCR test in cross infection across a hotel hallway. Worse—both were Pfizer vaccinated.👇https://t.co/c7uX2dFTkz?

— Eric Feigl-Ding (@DrEricDing) November 26, 2021

Under Israel’s new rules, travelers are tested at the airport and again on day three before being allowed to leave isolation.

Unvaccinated Israelis would be required to be isolated for seven days and can only be released after a negative test.

Israel is also seeking to limit travel to countries where it fears the variant exists.

Israel on Saturday created a red zone for travel that includes about 50 African countries. Anyone leaving Israel who travels to a red zone nation would be fined, and travelers seeking to leave must declare they will not go to one of those nations.

Surveillance of anyone returning from a red zone country who tests positive will also be performed by the Israeli security agency Shin Bet.

Bennett used the new rules as an opportunity to urge Israelis to be vaccinated as the Hanukkah holiday begins.

“The indications are that a vaccine prevents serious illness and the booster is very significant for protection against serious illness,” he said. “That is, even if you become infected, the booster protects you from serious illness.

“Those who have not yet been vaccinated with a booster simply voluntarily give up an essential layer of protection, at a critical time,” Bennet continued. “In preparation for Hanukkah events, so that the children can go out and celebrate safely, take them to get vaccinated.”

Israel is now seeking to contact individuals who entered Israel from red zone countries over the past week to have them tested.

“We understand there is a good chance that the new variant has already arrived here, so we are doing all we can to cut off the chains of infection,” said Reli Margalit, commander of Alon Headquarters. “Fortunately, at this time, the number of cases verified in Israel is low, and we have enough manpower to deal with them.”

The Omicron variant was brought into Israel by a traveler who returned from Malawi. That person had been fully vaccinated at the time.

45% of deaths after COVID vaccination happen in the first 2 weeks

Guest Post by Steve Kirsch

It’s 59% at 4 weeks and 63% at 5 weeks. Doing some very conservative estimates on the number of Americans killed by the vaccine leads to the inevitable conclusion that the vaccines should be stopped.

My friend Albert Benavides (aka WelcomeTheEagle88) did a quick analysis for me on the deaths reported after vaccination in VAERS.

45% of all reported deaths happened within two weeks after vaccination.

Peter Schirmacher, one of the world’s top pathologists, said that 30% to 40% of people who died within 2 weeks after vaccination died were killed by the vaccine. His results were replicated by other German pathologists (since no US pathologist would dare accuse the vaccine of causing death or they would be immediately fired).

If we take the most conservative view possible, the vaccine should be immediately stopped

So taking a very conservative view that VAERS is 100% reported (so only a total of 8664 deaths), then 44% of 8664 = within 2 weeks = 3812 killed in the first two weeks. If just 30% was caused by the vaccines, then that is 1,143 people killed by the vaccine at a minimum. For 230M vaccinated, then that is 4.9 deaths per million minimum killed by the vaccine.

This means these vaccines are at least 5X deadlier than the smallpox vaccine which we pointed out is deemed to be too unsafe to use. Note that this estimate assumes that only the deaths in the first two weeks are caused by the vaccine and assumes after 2 weeks all the excess deaths we caused by something else.

Note: The actual number killed by the vaccines is at least 150K (estimated 8 different ways), but we’re trying to be as conservative as possible here giving any critics nothing to complain about.

Here are the stats from Albert

Here are the % of total deaths for each week for the first 5 weeks:

  1. 33.6% meaning that in the first week, 33.6% of all the vaccine related deaths happened in the first week
  2. 10.97% in the second week, so now we’ve killed nearly 45% of all the deaths
  3. 8.4%
  4. 6.04%
  5. 4.19% by the fifth week out, 63% of all deaths have happened

Whitmer loses control of virus, U.S. military stepping in as situation grows 'dire'

The Biden administration is sending 44 medical personnel from the U.S. military to support two hospital systems in the state of Michigan, state officials said Wednesday.

The U.S. Department of Defense will send two medical teams, each comprising 22 doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists, who are expected to arrive next week, according to a Michigan Department of Health and Human Services news release.

The teams will assist health care workers at Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn and Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids in dealing with the growing number of COVID-19 cases in the state, as hospitals across Michigan suffer from a lack of enough emergency rooms and staff shortages.

Upon arrival, the teams would get straight to treating patients, lending their support to local healthcare workers for 30 days, the state health department said.

Furthermore, the federal government will be opening the John D. Dingell Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Detroit for transfers, according to the news release.

"The initial agreement is in place for 30 days and may be extended. MDHHS and the regional healthcare coalition will work with facilities in Southeast Michigan and the VA system to identify potential patients and coordinate transfers," the news release said.

"I'm grateful that the federal government has granted our request to provide much-needed relief to the health care personnel who have remained on the frontlines of this pandemic," Democratic Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer said.

"Right now, our doctors and nurses are reporting the vast majority of their patients are unvaccinated or have not yet received a booster dose. We can all do our part to help reduce the strain on our hospital systems by getting vaccinated, making an appointment to get a booster dose, and continuing to take precautions to keep ourselves and loved ones safe."

The state health department said that, according to hospital data reported to them, "over 20% of hospital inpatients statewide are COVID positive."

"There are regional differences with some facilities reporting that nearly 50% of inpatients are COVID positive. As of Nov. 22, 3,963 Michiganders are hospitalized for COVID-19," the news release stated.

In addition, public establishments are advised to implement masking policies and encourage compliance with such policies. This face mask advisory will remain in effect until further notice. Learn more at https://t.co/fNiwFpghVk. 2/2

Over 25,000 dead have died due to confirmed or possible COVID-19 cases in Michigan since the start of the pandemic, The Associated Press reported.

On Wednesday, the state once again had the nation's highest seven-day rate of infections, the AP reported.

According to the wire service, the state reported 17,000 new cases over two days and 280 additional deaths, and the seven-day daily average, 8,165 as of Tuesday, was near its peak since the pandemic's beginning.

"We deeply appreciate receiving this much-needed support from Governor Whitmer, MDHHS and the federal government to help our courageous staff battle a fourth COVID surge," Beaumont Health CEO John Fox said, according to the MDHHS news release.

"The virus has exhausted our teams and resulted in unprecedented staffing challenges at Beaumont Health and health systems across the state. This pandemic is not over by any means."

"On behalf of our physicians, team members and patients we are grateful for the Department of Defense medical team and appreciate support from state and federal levels as we take every measure to care for our community," Tina Freese Decker, President & CEO, Spectrum Health said.

"Working together we can address this urgent public health crisis, relieve the strain on our teams and continue to provide high quality care."

Brian Peters, CEO of the Michigan Health and Hospital Association, told the AP that the situation in-state was “dire” and they “desperately needed" the federal government's help through the military.

“Many hospitals throughout the state are operating at capacity, delaying nonemergency medical procedures and placing their emergency departments on diversion,” Peters said, according to the AP. “Receiving these teams of federal caregivers can only help those hospitals.”

Why Isn’t Everyone In Bangladesh Dead From COVID?

Bangladesh just reported zero COVID deaths in the entire country in a 24-hour period. Charitably, one-quarter of the population is vaccinated. This poor, incredibly densely populated nation appears poised on the verge of achieving herd immunity – despite violating every principle the high priests of the pandemic assure us are necessary to beat COVID.
