Below is my column in Fox News on the status of the Hunter Biden investigation and how it presents a challenge for many in Washington. Due to the continued work of a small number of media outlets like the New York Post, it is no longer possible to bury the story or continue the false claim that it is “Russian disinformation.”
The hope now appears to be a “controlled demolition” where Hunter is indicted on limited grounds without causing collateral damage to the political and media establishment.
Scandal implosion is as much an art as it is a science and could be the most brilliant achievement in this ongoing scandal.
Here is the column:
For news junkies, there has been a remarkable and sudden shift in the media in the coverage of the Hunter Biden scandal. The shift is the very fact that there is suddenly coverage of the Hunter Biden scandal. From CNN to NPR, reporters are now acknowledging that the infamous laptop is not “Russian disinformation” as was widely claimed before the 2020 election. After years of burying the story, the media is now attempting an even more precarious exercise.
It is called controlled demolition: the implosion of a scandal to limit any blast effect on nearby structures or individuals. Like those buildings dropped between other structures, it takes precision and, most importantly, cooperation to pull off. Specifically, this controlled demolition will require the perfect timing of the media, Democratic politicians, and most importantly, the Justice Department.
That was the same alliance that successfully killed the story before the election despite evidence of a multimillion dollar influence peddling scheme by the Biden family. The media eagerly spread the false claim of 51 intelligence experts who declared that the laptop was likely “Russian disinformation.” Twitter and social media companies imposed a news blackout before the election. Recently, GOP senators also accused the Justice Department of effectively spiking the investigation — displaying the same bias documented in the Russian collusion investigation.
For his part, Attorney General Merrick Garland has refused to appoint a special counsel despite the overwhelming need for such an appointment. Even former Attorney General Bill Barr recently said that new evidence makes such an appointment essential ( a reversal of his initial position in giving the case to United States Attorney David Weiss in Delaware).
I previously wrote a column on the one year anniversary of the Hunter Biden laptop story that marveled at the success of the Biden family in making the scandal vanish before that 2020 election. It was analogized to Houdini making his 10,000-pound elephant Jennie disappear in his act. With the help of the media, the Biden trick occurred live before an audience of millions.
The problem is the public can now see the elephant.
That is why the media is now recalibrating. That was most evident in the recent statement of New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman that “I know The New York Times felt it didn’t pursue it originally as much as it wanted to; then it followed up, as I recall.” Friedman does not explain what overrode that journalistic interest in the story or why the “follow up” came a year after the election of Joe Biden.
It appears that President Biden is no longer seen as a political asset with most Democrats refusing to publicly support him in his promised reelection bid. Biden now could endanger Democratic control of Congress. The question is how to drop Hunter (and even his father) without causing damage to the media, the Democrats, or others in Washington. It requires a controlled demolition.
The most important thing is to control the blast. By refusing to appoint a special counsel, Merrick Garland has effectively blocked the risk of a report on the extensive influence peddling, including the repeated references to President Biden. the “Big Guy” is discussed in emails as the potential recipient of a 10 percent cut on a deal with a Chinese energy firm as well as other benefits. Emails also refer to Hunter Biden paying portions of his father’s expenses and taxes. Recently, there was additional support showing that “the Big Guy” was indeed Joe Biden.
The problem is that embarrassing evidence is mounting by the day. That includes the recent disclosure new open influence peddling by Hunter, referencing access to his father. Some emails show Hunter using trips with his Dad to arrange meetings with business associates like Magnani. Indeed, in one exchange with Magnani, Hunter complains that he is not getting responses on his business dealings, objecting
“I have brought every single person you have ever asked me to bring to the F’ing White House and the Vice President’s house and the inauguration and then you go completely silent,. I don’t know what it is that I did but I’d like to know why I’ve delivered on every single thing you’ve ever asked – and you make me feel like I’ve done something to offend you.”
The cringeworthy email only adds to the embarrassment not of Hunter Biden but the media struggling to control the damage from the scandal.
Yet, none of that would be the focus of coverage if the case can be ended on narrow criminal charges.
In other words, the case can then be collapsed by triggering a smaller explosion. Rather than pursue wider conspiracies connected to the influence peddling, Hunter could be indicted on a few tax or lobbying counts. That would allow for a plea bargain that would allow the media to focus narrowly on those counts and not the broader influence peddling by the Biden family.
Of course, controlled demolition can at times take an unexpected turn. The greatest danger is that either house of Congress could flip to GOP control. That would open up the entire matter to congressional investigation. Yet, if a plea has already closed the case, the legal blowback could be confined.
The key to political controlled demolitions “to ‘implode’ the building, that is, make it collapse down into its footprint.” The footprint is now Hunter Biden, confining the implosion to him while leaving the media and establishment untouched.

Lying About The Economy Will Only Make The Coming Crash Worse

I really don’t know how to describe the disturbing trend over the last few months of the Biden administration, along with Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, simply lying to the American people about the economy.
Months worth of political spin has culminated in embarrassing recent attempts to redefine the word “recession”: a futile effort to pull the wool over an American public that is growing increasingly suspect both Biden and Yellen’s competence to be overseeing the the country, and the economy, respectively.
By now, the administration’s pathetic falsehood of a narrative about our economy has been called out, ridiculed, dismantled and generally beaten to death by anyone with a shred of common sense.
However, there is something far more important that people aren’t talking about: the administration lying about the health of the economy could wind up exacerbating any financial crisis that we have in the near future.

Put simply, the more you tell people that “everything is fine” when it isn’t, the more surprised and shocked they are going to be when markets start to panic.
I don’t think a market crash is an outrageous scenario that has no chance of happening, either. I noted in my latest portfolio update that I thought the market could have a short-term rally based on the idea of participants thinking that the Fed is preparing to pivot.
But over the course of the longer-term, the rate hikes that have already been put into place are going to eventually make their way to the economic-narrative-foreground in the form of huge forthcoming aftershocks throughout the economy.
And so everybody who has been buying the dip over the last two weeks, whether it is out of FOMO, being forced out of short positions or a genuine belief that equities are now cheap, may still have to face pronounced upcoming market shocks.
The first shock will come in the form of the rate hikes that have already happened.
The Fed has hiked rates so quickly that the economy - with its record amount of outstanding debt - still has yet to catch up. Over the next quarter or two, we’re going to see the real effects of the 2% worth of recent rate hikes play out in the economy. And as Zero Hedge points out, it’s coming at the worst possible time: as the personal savings rate has collapsed to 5.1%, its lowest since August 2008.
It is this delayed reaction that is, in my opinion, going to cause a repeat of December 2018’s market sell off. For comparison, the Fed hiked at nowhere near the current pace leading up to 2018. The hikes leading up to 2018 took almost 3 years to reach 2.25-2.5%.
This is why I believe an upcoming selloff will happen quickly and catch everyone off guard. After all, we have hiked to 2.25%-2.5% this time in just five months.
The second shock that people could be in for is if the Fed decides to hold its nerve and doesn’t begin discussing a pivot. Language out of the Fed was perceived to be dovish last week, but then the Fed’s biggest dove, Neel Kashkari, was out making hawkish statements over the weekend. Kashkari said Sunday:
“We are committed to bringing inflation down and we’re going to do what we need to do. We are a long way away from achieving an economy that is back at 2% inflation, and that’s where we need to get to.”
I have to say, I was stunned by Kashkari’s comments. They indicate to me that even the most dovish of Fed members may still be posturing for a fight against inflation. If this becomes the case, the Fed pivot story immediately comes off the table, risk appetites have to re-adjust immediately, and there is still a very real case that the market needs to move 30%, or even 40%, lower than current levels based on the historical mean of the Buffett indicator.
Whether or not this happens all depends on how spineless the Fed is and how the government reacts to the first signs of real panic in markets. Judging by Democrats like Elizabeth Warren already lobbing criticisms at Jerome Powell for “crashing the economy”, I don’t think the Fed or the government has the nerve to sit back and watch it all burn down.
But most importantly, let’s get one thing straight: the Biden administration re-assuring the American public that everything is fine economically, when it isn’t, is only going to make matters worse.
The American public will be that much more surprised when they can no longer service their debt because rates have moved higher.
They’ll be even more surprised that there are no more stimulus checks on the horizon.
The average American will also be surprised when the market starts to crash because of a 2% hike in rates. Most people don’t grasp how seismic of a move in rates that is for the amount of debt outstanding that we have.
Finally, the American public is going to be surprised when everybody capitulates and they become part of the deleveraging snowball effect.
The veracity and intensity with which the American public starts to panic once the economic screws get tighter will be a direct result of how the current administration is calibrating their expectations for the economy going forward.
Telling the public that we’re not in a recession isn’t Keynesian economics, it’s Keynesian double speak. The Fed and the administration are no longer content micromanaging the actual financial variables that make up the macroeconomy, they have to now reduce themselves to changing the definition of words.
In terms of calibrating the expectation of investors to the market going forward, this is an egregious sin. When the shit starts hitting the fan - and it will - I don’t want you to be surprised when you see the headlines about how shocked and caught off-guard everybody was by the fact that a sharp market selloff took place so quickly.
Just remember, when it happens, that if the Biden administration offered up a shred of truth about the economy over the last couple weeks, it wouldn’t be as bad as it’s going to be.

During the pandemic, police departments across the country decided that now would be a great time to acquire armored tanks. And the reasons they use to justify those purchases are infuriating.
What started out as a ludicrous reason by police in Juneau, Alaska to justify purchasing a Lenco Armored Vehicle BearCat G3, has turned into a dubious campaign used by police across the country.
Eight days ago, the Juneau Empire reported how city officials thought that if the Juneau Police Department changed the paint color of their armored tank, the public would be more willing to accept it.
“It can’t look like what we see in these pictures here,” Assembly member Christine Woll said. “It’s a small thing, but I think it helps people understand what’s coming toward them in that moment,” Woll said.
After receiving startled reactions from the public, the police department claimed that they needed a tank to protect the public from extremist protests.
“The BearCat is a customizable all-steel armored vehicle that accommodates up to 12 fully-equipped officers, and used by police departments and other agencies for everything from rescues in difficult-to-access remote areas to ‘extremist’ protests where gunfire and other threats are present.”
Using the threat of “extremist” protests as a reason to purchase an armored tank is about as absurd as it gets. Or so I thought.
The Juneau police also claimed to need an armored tank to respond to landslides and avalanches.
“The Juneau Police Department envisions using the BearCat to respond to natural disasters such as landslides and avalanches where road access is impossible for existing vehicles, as well as high-threat situations such as evacuating people from neighborhoods while under gunfire.”
Which excuse is more preposterous? I am not sure, but I think it is probably the first: protecting the public from extremist protests. A close second, is needing tanks to respond to landslides and avalanches which stretches law enforcement’s credulity to absurd lengths.
But it gets better, as Deputy Police Chief David Campbell explains.
“A tremendous amount of thought went into this here – it’s not a knee jerk reaction,” he said. “To me my question isn’t why do we need this, it’s why haven’t we had this all along?”

The Associated Press published a bizarre article suggesting that Elon Musk is a hypocrite for supporting free speech on Twitter yet using the platform to “attack” his critics.
“Elon Musk boasts that he’s acquiring Twitter to defend freedom of speech,” the AP reported. “But he has long used the platform to attack those who disagree with him.”
Apparently, the news agency can’t comprehend the basic notion that Musk exercising his free speech to respond to his critics is also a form of free speech.

Perhaps the article is another shocking illustration of how the media and journalists no longer have any basic grasp of the fundamental tenets of free speech.
Similar ignorance has been displayed by those who think Elon Musk is denying them free speech because he blocks them on Twitter.
They’re seemingly unaware of the very simple fact that your right to free speech doesn’t compel others to listen to it.

As Chris Menahan notes, the AP’s sudden interest in protecting free speech rights of critics of powerful people doesn’t seem to extend to those who have criticized the Ukrainian government.
Last month, the AP proudly accompanied SBU thugs as they went door to door kidnapping and arresting people for criticizing President Zelensky.

The Biden administration has proposed amendments to World Health Organization regulations that would give the U.N. agency's director-general unilateral authority to declare a health emergency in the United States.
The International Health Regulations amendments will be subject to votes at the upcoming annual meeting of the WHO's governing legislative body, the World Health Assembly, May 22-28 in Geneva, Switzerland, warns the acclaimed reformer in the field of psychiatry, Dr. Peter Breggin, who is helping lead a campaign to raise awareness of the Biden administration's move.
Breggin writes that the planning for the amendments "has been so stealthy that it might have escaped attention except for the efforts of one individual," author, researcher and activist James Roguski.
Roguski has a website through which citizens can comment to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services – the deadline is Friday morning at 10 a.m. Eastern. A separate form allows citizens to sign a petition demanding the amendments be withdrawn.

Under the new regulations, the director-general could declare an emergency in the U.S. if he determines there is a potential health threat to other nations.
Breggin notes the existing International Health Regulations are a "binding instrument of international law entered into force on 15 June 2007."
A graduate of Harvard and Case Western Reserve Medical School, Breggin, 86, is known as the "conscience of psychiatry" for his criticism of the use of drugs and electroconvulsive therapy in the field. He advocates instead "more effective, empathic, and ethical forms of psychological, educational, and social approaches to people with emotional suffering and disability."
His latest book is "COVID-19 and the Global Predators: We are the Prey, which criticizes the global pandemic response and explores who has profited from it.
The Biden administration quietly submitted the amendments to the WHO on Jan. 18, Breggin notes on his website.
Significantly, they override the current check on WHO power which states that the agency "shall consult with and attempt to obtain verification from the State Party in whose territory the event is allegedly occurring."
"By eliminating that, and other clauses," Breggin writes, "all the shackles will be removed from the Director-General of WHO, enabling him to declare health emergencies at will."
Breggin warns that the "arbitrary authority to declare national emergencies will be used against the United States if our government ever again dares to take anti-globalist stands as it did under the Trump administration."
Investigative reporter Leo Hohmann spotlights some of the other changes contained in the amendments.
They include the implementation of "regional" health czars under WHO authority who enforce the U.N. agency's policies.
"Aid can be withheld, punishing economic sanctions can be placed on any nation that deviates from the prescribed WHO remedy for whatever health emergency has been declared by the WHO director general," Hohmann writes.
The current director, he points out, is Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has been criticized for allowing the Chinese Communist Party to manhandle the U.N. agency and control pandemic policies and the overall narrative, blocking investigation of COVID-19's origin.
Act now
Breggin points out that existing WHO regulations provide for an 18-month grace period during which a nation can withdraw its "yes" vote for amendments.
However, the current proposed amendments would reduce the timeframe to six months.
"We must act now to prevent the passage of the amendments, including putting sufficient pressure on the United States to withdraw them from consideration," Breggin writes.
"If that fails, and the amendments are approved at the May meeting of the WHO governing body, we must then make the effort to influence a majority of the nations to change their votes to 'no.'"
A total of 47 nations support the Biden administration's amendment, including all 27 European Union members.
Breggin points out that in the foreword to WHO’s regulations, there is no specific limit to what constitutes a health emergency, and he warns that the authority is not limited to pandemics.
The scope of authority includes an "illness or medical condition, irrespective of origin or source, that presents or could present significant harm to humans."
In an interview Thursday with "War Room," Breggin said the Biden administration proposals essentially make the WHO's director-general a "dictator over health emergencies."

Epstein, a Harvard-trained psychologist who founded the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies, likens Google to a dictator with unprecedented power because it relies on techniques of manipulation that have never existed before in human history.
The free services they provide really aren’t free, he warns. “You pay for them with your freedom.”
Google uses ephemeral manipulation tools
In the video above, Epstein speaks with Jan Jekielek, senior editor of The Epoch Times, about Google’s ability to control public policy, swing elections and brainwash our children.
Google has the power “to censor content, to track our every move, to tear societies apart, to alter the human mind and even to reengineer humanity,” Epstein writes in his report, “Google’s Triple Threat,” which he details in his interview with Jekielek.
The methods Google uses are ephemeral and leave no paper trail, making it very difficult to track and prove that they’re using humans as pawns, manipulating us in ways that we can’t counteract.
Ephemeral experiences occur briefly, then disappear, and include things like a list of suggested videos on YouTube, search suggestions and topics in a newsfeed.
“They affect us, they disappear, they’re stored nowhere and they’re gone,” Epstein says.
“It’s the ideal form of manipulation. People have no idea they’re being manipulated, number one, and number two, authorities can’t go back in time to see what people were being shown, in other words, how they were being manipulated.”
Epstein and his team, however, have found ways to track Google’s invisible, almost subliminal, tools, including the search engine manipulation effect (SEME). According to Epstein:
“SEME is one of the most powerful forms of influence ever discovered in the behavioral sciences … It leaves people thinking they have made up their own minds, which is very much an illusion.
“It also leaves no paper trail for authorities to trace. Worse still, the very few people who can detect bias in search results shift even farther in the direction of the bias, so merely being able to see the bias doesn’t protect you from it.”
Research by Epstein and colleagues has found that biased search results can change people’s opinions and voting preferences, shifting opinions in undecided voters by 20% to 80% in certain demographic groups.
Internal emails leaked from Google talk about “ephemeral experience,” and the company makes a point to engineer ephemeral experiences intended to alter the way people think.
SEME, however, is just one of about a dozen subliminal tools that Epstein’s team has discovered. Others include the “search suggestion effect,” the “opinion matching effect” and the “YouTube manipulation effect.”
Google shifted millions of votes in 2020
As Epstein and his team began to preserve politically related ephemeral experiences, extreme political bias was uncovered on Google and YouTube, which is owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet.
In the days leading up to the 2020 Presidential election and 2021 Senate runoff elections in Georgia, for instance, they preserved 1.5 million ephemeral experiences and more than 3 million web pages, which were sufficient to shift “at least 6 million votes in the presidential election without people’s knowledge.”
This isn’t an isolated incident. In 2016, Google’s search algorithm generated biased search results that influenced undecided voters, giving 2.6 million to 10.2 million votes to Hillary Clinton.
Epstein makes a point to state that he leans left politically, but despite Google’s bias working to support the candidates he supported, he can’t applaud it, “because rigorous research I have been conducting since 2013 has shown me how dangerous these companies are – Google-and-the-Gang, I call them.”
Even displaying a “Go Vote” reminder on Google on election day in 2018, Epstein found, gave one political party an extra 800,000 to 4.6 million votes compared to what the other party got. What’s more, Epstein says those numbers are “quite conservative.”
“In other words,” Epstein explained, “Google’s ‘Go Vote’ prompt was not a public service; it was a vote manipulation. This type of vote manipulation is an example of what I call the ‘Differential Demographics Effect.’”
Epstein also had a monitoring system in place in 2018, which preserved more than 47,000 election-related searches on Google, Bing and Yahoo, along with nearly 400,000 web pages that the search results linked to.
The political bias that was uncovered in the results may have shifted 78.2 million votes to one political party.
Even the “autocomplete” feature that occurs when you start to type in Google’s search engine is a powerful manipulation tool. “A growing body of evidence suggests that Google is manipulating people’s thinking and behavior from the very first character people type into the search box,” Epstein writes.
Just from this feature alone, Epstein’s research found Google can turn a 50/50 split among undecided voters into nearly a 90/10 split — all without people realizing they’re being manipulated.
Further, because Google’s persuasive technologies are so powerful, and many elections worldwide are very close, Epstein’s data suggest Google has likely been determining the outcomes of up to 25% of national elections worldwide since at least 2015.
Google is a surveillance agency
It’s important to understand that Google is a surveillance agency with significant yet hidden surveillance powers, and this is one of its primary threats to society. As noted by Epstein:
“The search engine … Google Wallet, Google Docs, Google Drive, YouTube, these are surveillance platforms. In other words, from their perspective, the value these tools have is they give them more information about you. Surveillance is what they do.”
While surveillance is Google’s primary business, its revenue — which exceeds $130 billion a year — comes almost exclusively from advertising. All that personal information you’ve provided them through their various products is sold to advertisers looking for a specific target audience.
Meanwhile, they also have an unprecedented censorship ability. By restricting or blocking access to websites, they decide what you can and cannot see.
The most crushing problem with this kind of internet censorship is that you don’t know what you don’t know. If a certain type of information is removed from a search, and you don’t know it should exist somewhere, you will never know and you won’t go looking for it.
This is how hundreds of millions of people have been deprived of learning the power of natural healing from me and many other clinicians who have been censored by Google.
For example, Google has been investing in DNA repositories for quite a long time and adding DNA information to our profiles. According to Epstein, Google has taken over the national DNA repository, but articles about that — which he has cited in his own writings — have all vanished.
As it stands, Epstein is worried for the future if no one steps in to stop Google’s power:
“As the father of five children, I am especially concerned about what humanity’s future will look like if Big Tech is allowed to continue unobstructed on its path toward world domination. In the 1950s, British economist Kenneth Boulding wrote, ‘A world of unseen dictatorship is conceivable, still using the forms of democratic government.’
“I am writing this essay because I believe that such a world already exists, and that unless we act quickly and decisively, the power that the technology company executives have garnered will become so firmly entrenched that we will never be able to unseat them from their invisible thrones.”
Epstein’s six top privacy tips
The first step to breaking free from Google’s dictatorship is recognizing that the manipulation is occurring. The next involves consciously opting out of it as much as possible.
Children must be protected, as they are among the most vulnerable to the onslaught of manipulation, which will have serious consequences for future generations. Epstein noted:
“We’re trying to figure out how the manipulation works. But most importantly, we’re trying to quantify it …
“Because I think that what’s really happening is that there is a cumulative effect of, not just political bias, but a value literally a cumulative effect of being exposed to certain kinds of values, over and over and over again, on one tech platform, or after another.
“And I think that the people who are most vulnerable to being impacted by that kind of process are children.”
Epstein has compiled six steps that can help protect your privacy online, noting that he hasn’t received a targeted ad on his computer or mobile phone since 2014 as a result.
To take back some of your online privacy, for yourself as well as your children, he recommends:
- Get rid of Gmail. If you have a Gmail account, try a non-Google email service instead such as ProtonMail, an encrypted email service based in Switzerland.
- Uninstall Google Chrome and use Brave browser instead, available for all computers and mobile devices. It blocks ads and protects your privacy.
- Switch search engines. Try Brave search engine instead, which you can access on the Brave browser and will not compromise your privacy and surveil you.
- Avoid Android. Google phones and phones that use Android track virtually everything you do and do not protect your privacy. It’s possible to de-Google your cellphone by getting an Android phone that doesn’t have a Google operating system, but you’ll need to find a skilled IT person who can reformat your cellphone’s hard drive.
- Avoid Google Home devices. If you have Google Home smart speakers or the Google Assistant smartphone app, there’s a chance people are listening to your requests, and even may be listening when you wouldn’t expect.
- Consider using a proxy or VPN (Virtual Private Network). This service creates a buffer between you and the internet, “fooling many of the surveillance companies into thinking you’re not really you.”

With 43% of baby formula out of stock across the country due to supply disruptions at the nation's largest plant, images of empty shelves and desperate mothers have been flooding social media.

But don't try to take matters into your own hands, moms. According to the New York Times, pediatricians "strongly advise" against trying to make baby formula at home.
Some are rationing food or driving to stores hours away only to find empty shelves. Others are heading online to look up homemade baby formula recipes that use anything from powdered goat’s milk to raw cow’s milk.
But pediatricians warn that do-it-yourself baby formulas carry significant health risks. -NYT
"Homemade formula is dangerous for babies," said Dr. Katie Lockwood, an attending physician at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Primary Care. "Regular formula is F.D.A.-regulated and held to very high standards, the same way we treat medications. Making it at home is a lot riskier."
Steven Abrams, spokesman for the American Academy of Pediatrics, said "The nutrients in homemade formulas are inadequate in terms of the critical components babies need, especially protein and minerals."

Home brew baby formula can also contain "an excess of materials or nutrients, like salt, which a baby's developing kidneys or liver may be unable to break down."
What's more, babies can suffer from "water intoxication," - where the "baby might get too much water" if the balance of nutrients and liquids are off, according to Dr. Suzette Oyeku, chief of academic general pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, in New York City.
What's their solution? Call your doctor! Go to a charity! Use cow milk in a pinch!
"The first call any parent or caregiver struggling to track down baby formula should make is to their child’s pediatrician. They may have formula samples on hand, or be able to help connect you with local charities or breast milk banks that can help."
In a pinch, babies over six months — with no known allergies — can have pasteurized whole-milk cow’s milk for a brief period of time until parents are able to find formula. While not ideal in large part because it does not provide sufficient iron, it’s preferable to offering them homemade formula or diluting store-bought formula with water, Dr. Abrams said.
The Abbott Laboratories baby formula plant in Sturgis, Michigan was shuttered by the FDA nearly three months ago after receiving four reports of infants who were hospitalized with bacterial infections after consuming the formula from the facility - two of whom died.
The company reportedly failed to repair aging drying machines.

According to NBC Boston, the FDA announced on Tuesday that it would allow 'some' products from the shuttered Abbott facility to be released on a "case-by-case" basis.
Now, the FDA is saying it will not object "to Abbott Nutrition releasing product to individuals needing urgent, life-sustaining supplies of certain specialty and metabolic formulas on a case-by-case basis."
Abbott, meanwhile, says it will take at least two months before baby formula from the plant can return to store shelves.
"We understand the situation is urgent – getting Sturgis up and running will help alleviate this shortage," the company said in a Wednesday statement.
"Subject to [U.S. Food and Drug Administration] approval, we could restart the site within two weeks," the statement continues "We would begin production of EleCare, Alimentum and metabolic formulas first and then begin production of Similac and other formulas. From the time we restart the site, it will take six to eight weeks before product is available on shelves."

On Wednesday, Project Veritas released documents provided by an FBI whistleblower showing that the agency is targeting news media organizations in the US with secret criminal investigations.
The unnamed whistleblower, who has been a special agent for many years and is still employed with the bureau, provided the classified documents to Project Veritas in hopes of exposing the corruption and politically-motivated targeting that has taken over the FBI.
Based on what he has seen from the inside, these issues are rampant and the law enforcement agency is regularly using its vast powers to target political opponents and opposing voices that dissent from the approved narrative.
According to the documents he provided, the FBI opened a criminal investigation into Project Veritas with a “SIM” [sensitive investigative matter] classification.
The undercover outlets alleged crimes? Violence-harm, extortion, and coercion, among others.
Yes, really.
From the whistleblower:
“There’s a number of very troubling things that are happening in the FBI... Project Veritas appears to be a victim of political undertakings, which is where this agency [the FBI] has gone.
The file that your talking about is background on the Project Veritas investigation that resulted in the search warrant at your premises. We don’t see a lot of investigations into news organizations, it’s not common. To see a criminal investigation, particularly one categorized the way this is, is alerting and surprising based on the public information that is provided.
And, it’s not just a handful of rogue Leftist agents who are running wild. The whistleblower confirmed that these decisions are decided by the top brass at each FBI field office.
Whistleblower: “So, SIM is a classification. That means it’s a ‘sensitive investigative matter.’ Because it’s sensitive it could be a political figure, it could be a news organization.”
Okeefe: “Who makes the classification?”
WB: “It would usually be identified by the case agents who are working it. And it’s also done in conjunction with the Chief Division Counsel of that field office – who is going to be the top internal lawyer… In this case, it is restricted because even the name of the subject [in this investigation] would indicate the [politically-driven] nature of what’s going on.”

This isn’t the first time that PV has exposed Biden’s alphabet agencies for their open targeting of the left’s political opponents. In fact, Biden’s DOJ was busted by the investigative outlet last month for secretly spying on journalists through their iCloud and Gmail accounts.

Republican Congressmen Jim Jordan and Mike Johnson received documents from FBI whistleblowers that reveal the bureau targeted parents who protested CRT and Covid rules despite Attorney General Merrick Garland’s claims it never happened.
One mom was investigated because she belonged to a ‘right-wing group’ called “Moms for Liberty” and because she owned a gun.
Another dad who opposed masks was investigated because he fit the bill of an “insurrectionist” because he “has a lot of guns.”
Last fall, the National School Board Association (NSBA) coordinated with the Biden White House weeks before AG Merrick Garland classified parents “domestic terrorists” in a letter to the FBI.
The NSBA begged Biden to use federal law enforcement agencies against parents and investigate them for “domestic terrorism and hate crime threats.” They shamelessly claim the situation is so dire that he should use the Patriot Act, among other “enforceable actions” against them.
Merrick Garland targeted parents who dare speak out against Critical Race Theory (CRT) because his son-in-law makes millions off of selling the Marxist literature across the country.
The NSBA begged the Biden Regime to label parents “domestic terrorists” and use the Patriot Act against them.
AG Garland denied this was happening under oath during testimony to lawmakers.
“I can’t imagine any circumstance in which the Patriot Act would be used in the circumstances of parents complaining about their children, nor can I imagine a circumstance where they would be labeled as domestic terrorism,” Garland said in October under oath.
Rep. Jordan says he has evidence from a whistleblower that reveals the FBI targeted parents using terrorism tools.

Republican Reps. Jim Jordan and Mike Johnson say they have evidence that the FBI targeted parents who protested schools’ COVID policies despite assurances from Attorney General Merrick Garland that it never happened.
In a letter addressed to the Justice Department, Jordan and Johnson said they have evidence that the FBI labeled dozens of investigations into parents with a threat tag created by the bureau’s Counterterrorism Division to assess and track investigations related to school boards. The evidence comes from “brave whistleblowers” within the Department of Justice, they say in the letter addressed to Attorney General Garland.
Jordan and Johnson, citing a whistleblower, said the FBI opened investigations with the EDUOFFICIALS threat in every region of the country and relating to all types of educational settings.
The lawmakers cited several examples where someone reported a parent, or a state elected official using the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center.
In one investigation, FBI officials interviewed a mom for allegedly telling a school board member “we are coming for you.” The person reported the mom because she belonged to a “right wing mom’s group” called “Moms for Liberty” and because she is a gun owner. FBI officials eventually determined this mom was not a threat.
In another investigation, FBI officials interviewed a dad opposed to masks, according to Jordan and Johnson. The person who reported the dad did so because he supposedly fit the bill of an “insurrectionist” and “rails against the government” and “has a lot of guns and threatens to use them” – claims which the person later admitted they had “no specific information or observations of … any crimes or threats.”

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey said he backs Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s plan to reinstate former President Donald Trump’s account on the platform, calling the move to ban Trump a “business decision” and a “failure.”

Musk suggested on Tuesday he would overturn Trump’s suspension from Twitter if his takeover bid for the social media platform ends in success.
Twitter banned Trump from the platform following the Jan. 6 Capitol breach, claiming his posts violated a glorification of violence policy.
Speaking at a Future of the Car event hosted by the Financial Times on May 10, Musk addressed Trump’s Twitter ban, saying he thinks “it was a morally bad decision to be clear and foolish in the extreme.”
Dorsey backed Musk’s remarks, saying in a series of posts on Twitter that the decision to permanently suspend Trump from the platform was a mistake.
“I do agree. There are exceptions (CSE, illegal behaviour, spam or network manipulation, etc), but generally permanent bans are a failure of ours and don’t work, which I wrote about here after the event (and called for a resilient social media protocol),” Dorsey said in a post responding to a user who said Musk believes Dorsey agrees with him that “there shouldn’t be permanent bans on individual Twitter users.”
Dorsey said in a follow-up post that banning Trump was a misguided “business decision.”
“It was a business decision, it shouldn’t have been. and we should always revisit our decisions and evolve as necessary. I stated in that thread and still believe that permanent bans of individuals are directionally wrong,” Dorsey wrote in the post.
Musk has offered to buy Twitter for around $43 billion, saying he wants to actualize the company’s “extraordinary potential” to become a true platform for free speech.
‘Time-Outs’ Rather Than Bans
Musk has earlier expressed reluctance about permanent bans of users from Twitter, preferring instead temporary “time-outs.”
“I’m not saying that I have all the answers here,” Musk said at a recent TED talk in Vancouver, Canada. “But I do think that we want to be just very reluctant to delete things, just be very cautious with permanent bans. Time-outs I think are better than permanent bans.”
Musk was asked point-blank during the Future of the Car event about allowing Trump back on the social media platform.
“So I guess the answer is … I would reverse the perma-ban” on Trump’s account, Musk said, cautioning that he “[doesn’t] own Twitter yet.”
“Permanent bans should be extremely rare and really reserved for accounts that are bots, or scam, spam accounts,” Musk added.
“I do think it was not correct to ban Donald Trump. I think that was a mistake … It alienated a large part of the country and did not ultimately result in Donald Trump not having a voice,” he said.
Musk went on to argue that permanent bans undermine trust in Twitter.
“If there are tweets that are wrong and bad, those should be either deleted or made invisible, and a suspension—a temporary suspension—is appropriate, but not a permanent ban.”
In terms of adjusting Twitter’s moderation policies, Musk said earlier he’d want to err on the side of free speech.
“If in doubt, let the speech, let it exist,” Musk said. “If it’s a gray area, I would say let the tweet exist. But obviously in a case where there’s perhaps a lot of controversy, that you would not want to necessarily promote that tweet.”
“A good sign as to whether there’s free speech is, is someone you don’t like allowed to say something you don’t like,” Musk said. “And if that is the case, then we have free speech.”
Trump, for his part, has welcomed the prospect of Musk taking over Twitter but the former president said he would not return to the platform and would instead stay on Truth Social.

Catherine Austin Fitts (CAF), Publisher of The Solari Report and former Assistant Secretary of Housing (Bush 41 Admin.), says we are at war with the Deep State globalists that want nothing short of total control over all of mankind.
Central bankers want a financial system that is a lawless criminal control syndicate where it’s legal for them to do whatever they want. It is simply a choice between tyranny and sovereignty, freedom or slavery.
We start with the foundational building block of tyranny, the Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) that global bankers want to install in the financial system. CAF says, “It’s not a currency..."
" That’s what you need to understand. What we are talking about is a control system that is going to be implemented in a global coup d’état, and we are in the middle of a global coup d’état.
That’s what is happening right now.
Essentially, if you look at the central bankers, the BIS (Bank of International Settlements) and all the central bankers are trying to create a system where they are completely free of the laws of nation states and governments. In other words, they are inserting sovereign immunity from all laws and literally trying to create a civilization under the law where they are free to do whatever they want, including, as we know—genocide.”
CAF says to fight back against CBDC is to use cash.
Fitts says, “If you go to Solari.com, you will see something that says, “Cash Every Day.” Click the big red cap that says, “Make Cash Great Again.” If you click on that, you will get three videos. There are two videos I really want your audience to watch. One is a 56 second video of the BIS general manger Augustin Carstens in October 2020 explaining with CBDC they will have central control and enforce them centrally. It’s the only time in my life that I saw a central banker be 100% honest. The second video says “Financial Rebellion,” click it and you’ll get three minutes of a presentation by Richard Werner. He is certainly the top scholar in the world on central banking. . . . Richard explains that one of the top central bankers in Europe told him they are planning on chipping all of us.”
CAF says central bankers will ignore the U.S. Constitution, steal all of our assets like cash and gold but especially the land.
CAF contends they won’t be able to do this unless they take our guns and extinguish the Second Amendment. CAF also talks about what she thinks will happen after the first of this year when it comes to inflation or deflation.
CAF says, “We are at war and we need a war strategy. . . . The ‘Great Reset’ will turn into the ‘Great Resist.”
CAF contends the good news is people are waking up and this evil criminal system can be stopped. CAF says,
“Saint Paul said in Timothy, ‘Just stand and watch the divine go to work.’ They can’t do this. Did you see what just happened in Ireland? They tried to go all digital, and they had so many people cancel their accounts, they had to walk it back...
