U.S. Plans A Monkeypox Vaccine Campaign

The ruling class of the United States is planning a monkeypox vaccination campaign as a whopping 306 cases in 27 states and the District of Columbia, have been reported as of June 28th. That’s up from 156 cases a week earlier.

The C.D.C. has activated its emergency operations center to better monitor and respond to the outbreak, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. Clinics nationwide will begin offering vaccinations against monkeypox to anyone who may have been exposed to the virus, federal health officials announced on Tuesday, according to a report by The New York Times. 

It was only a matter of time until they rolled out yet another injection and panic the masses into taking it:

“This vaccine currently has some limitations on supply, and for this reason the administration’s current vaccine strategy prioritizes making it available to those who need it most urgently,” Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said.

The Department of Health and Human Services will provide 56,000 doses of the Jynneos vaccine immediately and an additional 240,000 doses in the coming weeks. Another 750,000 doses are expected to become available over the summer, and a total of 1.6 million doses by the end of this year.

States will receive doses of a safer and newer monkeypox vaccine called Jynneos from the federal stockpile, based on the number of cases and the proportion of the state’s population at risk for severe disease, the officials said at a news briefing. –The New York Times. 

The mainstream media wants everyone to get the newer vaccine because the older smallpox vaccine, called ACAM2000, is associated with harsh side effects, including death, in people who are immunocompromised, pregnant women, and older adults.

“Many of us are concerned that the window is closing for us to be able to eliminate monkeypox,” said Dr. Celine Gounder, an infectious disease expert and editor at large for public health at Kaiser Health News. “If we don’t start vaccinating more quickly and broadly, we’re going to have a very difficult time containing this,” she said. Ideally, tests and vaccines for monkeypox could have been offered at L.G.B.T.Q. Pride events across the country in order to reach men at high risk of contracting the virus, Dr. Gounder added.

These same experts are also saying monkeypox “mutates at an uprecendeted pace.” If that’s the case, won’t this vaccine be ineffective before too long much like the COVID injections?

Why the Housing Bubble Bust Is Baked In

Putting this all together, it's clear that the source of the current housing bubble is the explosion of financial speculation fueled by central bank policies.

Those benefiting from speculative bubbles have powerful incentives to deny the bubble can bust.Rationalizations abound as bubbles inflate, and the continued ascent of speculative bets seems to "prove" the rationalizations are correct.

But bubbles arise from speculative excesses, and once these reach extremes and reverse, bubbles burstand all the self-serving rationalizations are revealed as rationalizations.

Let's start with some caveats I've already covered in Is Housing a Bubble That's About to Crash? (May 2, 2022):

1. Housing is local, so there may be locales where prices are still rising due to unquenchable demand and low supply and other places where demand is low and supply ample where prices plummet.

2. The wealthiest 1% on a global scale is a very large number, and wealthy buyers seeking a safe haven in North America come with cash and don't care about mortgage rates. Desirable enclaves could see home prices climb even as the national bubble pops. (World population: 7.8 billion X 1% = 78,000.000 or roughly 30,000,000 households.)

3. Wealthy investors are holding a large number of dwellings off the market as investments. These empty units consequentially reduce the supply in desirable locales, and create an artificial scarcity that would not exist if central banks hadn't inflated the Everything Bubble.

4. The number of homes bought by corporations has soared. This has driven demand in many markets, but if rents dive due to recession, corporate buyers become corporate sellers.

With those caveats out of the way, let's look at the foundation of home ownership for the bottom 95%: income and mortgage rates. As mortgage rates rise, more income must be devoted to the monthly payment. If household income lags the increase in housing prices, price eventually exceed what the bottom 95% can afford once mortgage rates rise.

The first chart below is the national Case-Shiller Index. Note that housing prices have soared 63.6% since the previous housing bubble peak in 2007, outpacing inflation (up 41%) and median household income (up 34%), the second chart.

The third chart shows mortgage rates have broken out of a 37-year downtrend. It is noteworthy that mortgage rates were in the 7% to 8% range in previous economic booms (late 1960s, the 1990s) but now 6% mortgages are considered the end of the world. That suggests a dependence on cheap money / low rates is the primary support of the current bubble rather than an organic economic expansion such as we enjoyed in the 1990s.

Courtesy of my colleague CH at Econimica, the next three charts shed light on housing fundamentals. The first Econimica chart shows the rate of growth in population, employment and housing units. The U.S. population increased by a scant 1.5 million since 2019, the number of employed was flat and the number of housing units increased by 2.8 million.

The second Econimica chart shows the Fed Funds Rate (FFR), the staggering increase of mortgage-backed securities purchased by the Federal Reserve to keep mortgage rates low (from zero to $2.7 trillion), declining rate of population growth year-over-year and the remarkable rise in the number of housing units under construction.

The third Econimica chart shows housing units per capita (per person), which has reached the same level as the previous housing bubble peak in 2007-08.

As CH observed: "Housing units (per capita) against US population should suggest not a shortage of housing units but a surplus of dollars with which to buy them."

Putting this all together, it's clear that the source of the current housing bubble is the explosion of financial speculation fueled by central bank policies. Housing prices that far exceed the growth of household incomes are not sustainable, and neither are housing prices that rose solely on the basis of unprecedentedly low mortgage rates.

It's also clear that those with access to the (temporary) wealth created by central banks' trillions in new credit have poured many of these "free money" trillions into housing globally as a hedge against inflation, a safe-haven investment or for corporations, for rental income. All of these factors exacerbate an artificial demand and equally artificial scarcity.

As I've noted in the past, bubbles typically manifest a symmetry in their ascent and decline. All the gains are eventually reversed, and if the system is destabilized by the bubble bust, then prices drop far below previous lows.

Setting aside rationalizations in favor of fundamentals, the housing bubble's bust is already baked in.

US Federal Communications Commission Requests Apple and Google to Ban TikTok App Due to ‘National Security Risk’

A head of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) requested Apple and Google on Tuesday to remove TikTok from their app stores due to ‘serious national security threats’ posed by the said mobile app.

In a letter dated June 24, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr told Apple and Google to remove TikTok from their app stores as it “harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data” from its American users.

“Statistics show that TikTok has been downloaded in the US from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store nearly 19 million times in the first quarter of this year alone. It is clear that TikTok poses an unacceptable national security risk due to its extensive data harvesting being combined with Beijing’s apparently unchecked access to that sensitive data,” Carr wrote in his letter.

Carr added that TikTok failed to follow and abide by the terms and policies imposed by the ‘Big Tech.’

“It is also clear that TikTok’s pattern of conduct and misrepresentations regarding the unfettered access that persons in Beijing have to sensitive US user data.. puts it out of compliance with the policies that both of your companies require every app to adhere to as a condition of remaining available on your app stores,” Carr added.

Carr warned the CEOs of Apple and Google that TikTok collects confidential and sensitive information, including faceprints, voiceprints, and location data.

“TikTok is not what it appears to be on the surface. It is not just an app for sharing funny videos or memes. That’s the sheep’s clothing. At its core, TikTok functions as a sophisticated surveillance tool that harvests extensive amounts of personal and sensitive data. Indeed, TikTok collects everything from search and browsing histories to keystroke patterns and biometric identifiers, including faceprints- which researchers have said might be used in unrelated facial recognition technology–and voiceprints.”

“It collects location data as well as draft messages and metadata, plus it has collected the text, images, and videos that are stored on a device’s clipboard. The list of personal and sensitive data it collects goes on from there. This should come as no surprise, however. Within its own borders, the PRC has developed some of the most invasive and omnipresent surveillance capabilities in the world to maintain authoritarian control.”

TikTok is not just another video app.
That’s the sheep’s clothing.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Chinese employees repeatedly accessed private data from numerous American TikTok users.

In an exclusive report from Buzzfeed, leaked audio from more than 80 internal TikTok meetings, China-based employees of ByteDance have repeatedly accessed nonpublic data about US TikTok users — exactly the type of behavior that inspired former President Donald Trump to threaten to ban the app in the United States.

The news outlet added, “The recordings, which were reviewed by BuzzFeed News, contain 14 statements from nine different TikTok employees indicating that engineers in China had access to US data between September 2021 and January 2022, at the very least. Despite a TikTok executive’s sworn testimony in an October 2021 Senate hearing that a “world-renowned, US-based security team” decides who gets access to this data, nine statements by eight different employees describe situations where US employees had to turn to their colleagues in China to determine how US user data was flowing. US staff did not have permission or knowledge of how to access the data on their own, according to the tapes.”

Air Force avoids court-martial to boot officer with religious objections to vax

The Air Force is trying to boot out of its ranks an officer who has religious objections to the experimental COVID-19 shots, but is avoiding a court-martial procedure for fear of what it could reveal.

That would be that the military service's demand that all submit to the vax agenda is actually not a "lawful" order.

Which would be a huge "embarrassment."

It is Just the News that is reporting on the case involving Air Force Master Sgt. Vincent White, a Christian who requested a religious accommodation so that he would not be forced to take the abortion-linked COVID jab.

A court-martial now has been taken off the table, the report said, but he still could be facing an administrative separation board.

His lawyer, Davis Younts, says there's a reason.

"It'd be a significant embarrassment and a huge blow to the Air Force to have a judge rule" that the shot requirement is "not a lawful order," he said.

White's first request for an accommodation was rejected, but still he refused to take the shot.

He was then given an "Article 15" non-judicial punishment.

Under that resolution he could lose pay or rank and be given extra duty. But the rules also allow him to reject that, and insist on a court-martial.

That's what White did.

So then the Air Force quickly withdrew its Article 15 determination, which deprives White of the right to demand a court-martial, the attorney explained.

Younts said now the service apparently is intending to handle White's case with an administrative separation board, a different procedure from either a court-martial or an Article 15 panel.

The lawyer told Just the News the difference is that a court-martial would have a military judge rule on the lawfulness of the COVID vaccine order.

But that could end up in a huge embarrassment for the service.

The report continued, "If the vaccine order was found to be unlawful through a court-martial trial, then it 'would set a precedent that other military judges would be likely to follow' on the mandate, although it's not binding, Younts explained."

In a statement, Younts explained, "MSgt White stood up to an unlawful order, demanded the right to a trial, and the Air Force backed down. They will withdraw the Article 15 punishment and drop the allegation of violation of a lawful order.

"MSgt White was one of many Airmen that received Article 15 punishment for his stand against the mandate to take an experimental medical treatment. Because he was willing to demand trial, the Air Force backed down. We hope that MSgt White's willingness to take this brave stand will force the Air Force to back down in other cases. MSgt White remains in a fight to save his career because the Air Force still intends to send his case to an Administrative Separation Board."

White is stationed at Hurlburt Field Air Force Base, and officials there said they couldn't comment on individual cases.

But, according to Just the News, they said administrative actions are used against service members who refused the COVID-19 shot mandate.

The military claims it's a lawful order.

The report noted, "Last month, a Navy administrative separation board voted unanimously to retain an officer who refused to comply with the military vaccine mandate. That board found that the officer's failure to follow the COVID vaccine order did not count as misconduct and that he should remain in the Navy. Younts told Just the News at the time that the board members weren't convinced that the vaccine order was lawful."

On vax mandates, exemptions and true medical care

An exemption is something people get from military service or jury duty – a civil obligation that serves the common good, that is, the good of everyone.

Everyone benefits when the country is secure from a hostile invasion and from having a guaranteed right to trial by jury. Not everyone is fit to serve, and some have more important obligations, or conscientious objections. Therefore, we allow for exemptions even though people have a civic duty to participate in essential functions if they can.

But for medical treatments, the person prescribing the treatment must get permission. Operating on a person, injecting him, or even touching him without permission is assault and battery, except when there is a life-threatening emergency or an imminent danger to others. One does not need an exemption to forgo a medical treatment. One simply declines to get it.

Except with mandated vaccines.

Even if theoretically allowed, vaccine exemptions may be impossible to obtain. In some schools or enterprises, virtually all medical exemptions are denied. The person may have to present documentation of an almost fatal reaction to previously receiving a component of the vaccine. Many doctors refuse to help because of realistic fear of being delicensed if they support "too many" or "inappropriate" exemptions.

It may be easier to get a religious exemption, but one may have to prove the validity or sincerity of one's faith. Who has the legitimate authority to judge that?

This situation is backwards. For a prescription drug or for many lab tests, you must have a physician's order. The doctor is legally obliged to have a patient-physician relationship with you and to be responsible for side effects or for following up on test results. But who is ordering your COVID jab or your COVID test? Is that person qualified to be your doctor? Even if he is, you are under no obligation to follow your physician's advice, and patients frequently don't.

Who gave officials or employers or pharmacies an exemption from getting a physician's order?

I remember the early days of the AIDS epidemic, when it was difficult to get a test done. You had to be sure the patient understood the ramifications of a positive test and signed a special form. You couldn't do one to find out whether a nurse who got a needle-stick injury had been exposed to AIDS, or whether special precautions were needed to protect caregivers. Today, people who choose to be tested are not required to divulge the results.

Drug cocktails for AIDS have turned HIV infection into a chronic disease rather than a rapidly fatal one, but an infected person may still be able to transmit the disease for life. A pre- or post-exposure drug prophylaxis is available for those who engage in high-risk behavior, but using these drugs is purely voluntary.

What a contrast to vaccines!

We no longer treat persons with Hansen's disease (leprosy) like lepers. (Fortunately, it is now curable and not very contagious.) We do, however, treat incompletely vaccinated children like lepers, excluding them from school or social activities. Unlike HIV disease or untreated Hansen's disease, the "vaccine preventable" childhood diseases are contagious for only a few days in a child's entire life, and most are usually mild. You cannot get measles or other disease from a child who does not currently have it. After recovery, the child has better immunity than a vaccinated child.

We draft unwilling persons into vaccination for the "common good" – to protect the hypothetical immunocompromised child who can't be vaccinated, just in case there's a disease outbreak, and that child might get infected by an unvaccinated child rather than by a vaccinated person whose immunity wore off. Instead of shielding the vulnerable, we force everyone to take the risk of a serious or even fatal adverse reaction to something they believe offers them no compensating benefit. An unvaccinated but healthy person is not an imminent danger.

Government has exempted itself from the Constitution, and physicians have exempted themselves from the Oath of Hippocrates.

It's time for citizens and patients to deny these self-conferred exemptions and to assert their right to grant or withhold permission for medical treatment, according to their own values and risk-benefit assessment.
