The truth about GMOs

ORIGINAL LINK

About a year or so ago, Dr. Michael Antoniou, Claire Robinson and Dr. John Fagan, of Earth Open Source, wrote an extensive report about the myths and truths of GMOs.

Because of all the lies and propaganda thrust upon us by the biotech industry and their “hookers” on an almost daily basis it seems apparent that we examine the Earth Open Source findings once again.

What we are lead to believe by GM crop industry are:

*They are a part of the natural breeding process and are no different than naturally bred crops.

*They are not only safe to eat but more nutritious than naturally bred crops.

*They are regulated for safety (by the Obama appointed former biotech employees and lobbyists to key government positions).

*Crop yields are increased.

*They reduce the use of pesticides (and they say that with a straight face).

*That farmers are benefitted and their lives are made easier (yeah, I guess when a farmer commits suicide because he/she cannot afford to buy seeds every year they have nothing more to worry about).

*They bring economic benefits (by inflating the biotech bank accounts).

*They benefit the environment (by polluting the land and creating super weeds and bugs that thrive on glyphosate and 2-4-D (Agent Orange) ).

*They can help solve problems caused by climate change.

*Reduce energy use.

*Will help feed the world, (make the people sicker and increase the profits of Big pHarma).

I’m sure that just about every one of us has heard these deceptions. Fortunately, Earth Open Source presented scientifically documented information to the contrary. I might add that 800 independent scientists worldwide, not connected to the biotech industry, concur strongly.

Okay, let’s take a look at the researched evidence to the contrary regarding GMOs:

*GMO crops are laboratory-made and the technology used resembles nothing used
in natural breeding methods and poses severe health ramifications not
associated with non-GMO crops.

*GMOs can be more toxic, allergenic, and less nutritious than natural foods.

*GMO safety is not adequately regulated.

*Yield potential is not increased.

*Farmers can look forward to herbicide-tolerant “super weeds”, compromised
soil quality, and increased disease susceptibility in crops.

*Have mixed economic effects.

*GMOs harm soil quality, disrupt ecosystems, and reduce bio-diversity.

*GMOs do not offer effective solutions to climate change.

*GMOs are as energy-hungry as any other chemically-farmed crops.

*GMOs not only cannot solve world hunger problems but can distract from its
real causes of poverty, lack of access to food, and lack of access to land to
grow it on.

“Based on the evidence presented in this report – “GMO Myths and Truths: An evidence-based examination of the claims made for the safety and efficacy of genetically modified crops’ -, there is no need to take risks with GM crops when effective, readily available, and sustainable solutions to the problems that GM technology is claimed to address already exist. Conventional plant-breeding, in some cases helped by safe modern technologies like gene mapping and marker assisted selection, continues to out-perform GM in producing high-yield, drought tolerant, and pest and disease-resistant crops that can meet our present and future food needs”.

Michael Antoniou, PhD is a reader in molecular genetics and head, Gene Expression and Therapy Group, King’s College London School of Medicine, London, UK. He has 28 years’ experience in the use of genetic engineering technology investigating gene organization and control, with over 40 peer reviewed publications of original work, and holds inventor status on a number of gene expression biotechnology patents. Dr Antoniou has a large network of collaborators in industry and academia who are making use of his discoveries in gene control mechanisms for the production of research, diagnostic and therapeutic products and safe and efficacious human somatic gene therapy for inherited and acquired genetic disorders.

Claire Robinson, MPhil, is research director at Earth Open Source. She has a background in investigative reporting and the communication of topics relating to public health, science and policy, and the environment. She is an editor at GMWatch (www.gmwatch.org), a public information service on issues relating to genetic modification, and was formerly managing editor at SpinProfiles (now Powerbase.org).

John Fagan, PhD is a leading authority on sustainability in the food system, bio-safety, and GMO testing. He is founder and chief scientific officer of one of the world’s first GMO testing and certification companies, through which he has pioneered the development of innovative tools to verify and advance food purity, safety and sustainability. He co-founded Earth Open Source, which uses open source collaboration to advance sustainable food production. Earlier, he conducted cancer research at the US National Institutes of Health. He holds a PhD in biochemistry and molecular and cell biology from Cornell University.

Something to ponder: if GMOs are so safe, so nutritious, and pose no adverse risk to the environment, why does Monsanto and all the bio-tech hookers spend so much money to keep us from knowing we are eating GMOs? One would think they would all push for labeling because if it’s as good as they say it is, then there would be GMO shortages all over the place because people could not get enough.

To get them out of the body you would need to go through a detox process. The best for that are organic sulfur crystals, which can be red about at www.healthtalkhawaii.com/Products.

Aloha!

The Greatest Public Health Mistake of the 20th Century

ORIGINAL LINK

By Dr. Mercola

Vitamin D received its name because scientists initially assumed it was a vitamin, but further research showed it had been incorrectly categorized. It’s actually a prohormone, produced by your body from cholesterol in response to sunlight striking your bare skin. As a prohormone, vitamin D has enormous influence on your health, and it’s the only known substrate for a powerful repair-and-maintenance steroid hormone.1 Receptors that respond to vitamin D have been found in almost every type of human cell.

So, far from being a mere aid in bone formation, vitamin D is involved in a wide range of repair and maintenance functions, influences genetic expression, helps regulate immune function and more. Unfortunately, dermatologists have spent decades promoting sun avoidance2,3 and urging people to wear sunblock before venturing outside. As a result of this misguided advice, the field of dermatology has done tremendous harm to public health.

Sun Exposure Does Your Body Good

It was long thought that sun exposure was the primary cause of melanoma, the most lethal form of skin cancer. However, mounting evidence now tells us sun avoidance actually raises your risk of skin cancer while higher vitamin D levels from UVB exposure are protective.4

Vitamin D also improves survival outcomes for melanoma patients.5,6 It’s the burning as a result of intermittent overexposure that primarily impacts your skin cancer risk.7 While Americans have dutifully followed sun avoidance advice, the melanoma rate in the U.S. has actually risen rather than declined.8

Rates of melanoma have been rising for at least the last three decades, and research9 published in the British Journal of Dermatology in 2009 suggests the sun is likely nothing more than a scapegoat. According to this study, the rise in melanoma appears to be “an artifact caused by diagnostic drift.”

Diagnostic drift, according to the study, refers to a hefty increase in disease diagnoses fueled by detection and misclassification of benign lesions as stage 1 melanoma.

Sun avoidance also increases your risk of a number of other health problems stemming from vitamin D deficiency, including internal cancers10,11,12 that claim far more lives than skin cancer, as well as heart disease,13multiple sclerosis,14infertility15 and all-cause mortality.16,17,18

Studies Show Higher Sun Exposure Protects Health and Increases Longevity

One 2005 study19 found that vitamin D may prevent 30 deaths for each death caused by skin cancer. According to lead author Dr. Edward Giovannucci, a Harvard professor of nutrition:

"I would challenge anyone to find an area or nutrient or any factor that has such consistent anticancer benefits as vitamin D. The data are really quite remarkable."

Another 2013 study20 found that for every skin cancer death in northern Europe, between 60 and 100 people die from stroke or heart disease related to hypertension — a health problem associated with vitamin D deficiency, and lack of sun exposure in particular. Research21 published in 2012 also concluded that “The overall health benefit of an improved vitamin D status may be more important than the possibly increased cutaneous malignant melanoma risk resulting from carefully increasing UV exposure.”

Indeed, a two-decades-long Swedish study published in 201622,23 found that while women who got regular sun exposure had a higher risk for melanoma compared to sun avoiders, they also had a lower all-cause mortality. The authors concluded that sun avoidance is “a risk factor for death of a similar magnitude as smoking.” Aside from vitamin D, ultraviolet (UV) light from the sun also has a long list of other health benefits, including:24,25,26

  • Enhancing mood through the release of endorphins and reducing your risk of depression27
  • Lowering blood pressure through nitric oxide release28
  • Synchronizing important biorhythms
  • Treating many skin diseases
  • Preventing and curing tuberculosis (TB)29,30,31 — a disease that alone kills more people than melanoma each year32 — including antibiotic-resistant TB33

The Cure for Vitamin D Deficiency Is Right Outside Your Door

According to a recent study,34 vitamin D deficiency now affects nearly 1 billion people worldwide. The reason for such widespread deficiency? Lack of sun exposure caused by overuse of sunscreen.35,36 As reported by Daily News:37

“The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association says people are staying inside too much and putting on too much sunscreen for fear of skin cancer. ‘SPF 15 or greater decreases vitamin D3 production by 99 percent,’ the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) says.

The study, led by Dr. Kim Pfotenhauer, a doctor of osteopathic medicine and assistant professor at Touro University, says that recommended levels of vitamin D should be about 6,000 international units (IU) per day … [which] equals about ‘5 [to] 30 minutes in midday sun twice per week. However, it is important to forgo sunscreen during these sessions.’”

Darker-skinned individuals need far more time in the sun to optimize their vitamin D levels. Pfotenhauer notes African-Americans likely need about 30 minutes of sun exposure, depending on their location, whereas a light-skinned person might only need five minutes. This is a crucial piece of information that dermatologists completely ignore.

Dermatologists Make No Allowances for Skin Color

The American Academy of Dermatology issues the same recommendations for everyone, without regard for skin type. Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, they view all sun exposure as all risk and no gain, regardless of who or where you are. According to their advice, even if you have the deepest black skin and find it impossible to sunburn, you should always seek shade and wear protective clothing and/or sunscreen when outdoors. This stance is both nonsensical and unscientific.

The Skin Cancer Foundation issues the same advice. When asked why the recommendations fail to take skin type and color into account, Dr. Henry Lim, who sits on the Skin Cancer Foundation’s photobiology committee, replied that such information is irrelevant because vitamin D supplements can address deficiency.

Lim has also stated that adding recommendations based on skin tone would make the public health message “too complicated.” But by oversimplifying the matter, dermatologists place many at grave risk for vitamin D deficiency. Adding to the problem is that once vitamin D-related health problems become apparent, doctors will typically fail to link it back to a deficiency problem, instead resorting to drug treatment.

Dermatologists Fail to Understand Sun Exposure Is About Far More Than Vitamin D

There is no question in my mind that the best way to obtain vitamin D is from the sun, and that supplements are an inferior — necessary but far less than ideal — choice for a number of reasons. Most fail to appreciate that vitamin D is a biomarker for UVB exposure. When you take artificial vitamin D supplements your body believes it has received UVB exposure when it actually hasn’t, which confuses many vital biologic processes.

Additionally, sunlight is not just UVB but has all visible and important non-visible wavelengths like infrared, which may be every bit as important as UVB. Red and near-infrared energize cytochrome c oxidase in your mitochondria to facilitate cellular energy production. So, aside from ignorance, why are dermatologists so reluctant to admit sun exposure is a vital component of optimal health? Sure, many are probably blinded by specialization — their focus is on skin, not internal health or all-cause mortality.

Yet the resistance to finding a reasonable middle ground, where a limited amount of sun exposure can be promoted to ensure overall health and disease prevention raises suspicions. Surely they don’t actually want their patients to become ill and die from problems unrelated to skin cancer?

Could part of the problem be rooted in conflicts of interest? A recent paper38 in JAMA Dermatology found that dermatologists “received substantial payments form the pharmaceutical industry,” but that the impact on patient care was still unclear.

Dermatologists Have a Lot of Catching Up to Do

Whatever the reason for the resistance, what seems clear is that most dermatologists have abandoned reading the medical literature on vitamin D over the past two decades. Bizarre statements made by Dr. Barbara A. Gilchrest, acting president and vice chair of the American Skin Association, and Dr. Susan Roper, at the American Academy of Dermatology’s annual meeting offer a case in point.

To quote Dr. Marc Micozzi, who has degrees in both medical anthropology and epidemiology, dermatologists “have spotty, ‘skin deep’ understanding of vitamin D”39 — a comment referring to Gilchrest’s comments40 specifically, which include the following:

"This preoccupation with vitamin D status has led to an enormous amount of testing, which is expensive and not as reliable or consistent as we might like … [I]f you have a level of 20 ng/mL, you have a 97.5 percent chance that you're getting all the vitamin D you need …

[F]or many people, 16 or 12 ng/mL is adequate. Half the population is believed to have totally adequate vitamin D at a level of 16 ng/mL … [A] supplement of 1,000 IU/ day for adults is safe and sufficient.”

You might be aware that this deluded statement is in conflict with virtually every knowledgeable vitamin D researcher in the world, as levels below 20 ng/mL are a sign of severe deficiency leading to enormous pathology.

Roper, a dermatologist with Countryside Dermatology & Laser Center in Clearwater, Florida, expressed similar concerns with overtesting, saying many elderly patients are “put on toxic levels of vitamin D, sometimes 4,000 to 10,000 IU a day. A lot of my patients already have arthritis, and that high level of vitamin D makes it worse."

Roper’s profound ignorance in this area is beyond shocking as what she describes as a toxic dose is actually the recommended dose for the 80 percent of Americans or more that are vitamin D deficient and are unable to normalize their levels due to inability to obtain sensible sun exposure.

What Does the Science Say?

If you’ve been following the vitamin D research that has emerged over the past several years, in this newsletter or elsewhere, you will have no trouble spotting the fallacies in Gilchrest’s and Roper’s statements. Again, to suggest that a vitamin D level of 12 ng/mL is adequate is reprehensibly medically negligent.

Studies have very clearly determined 40 ng/mL is the cutoff point for sufficiency to prevent a wide range of diseases, including cancer. As just one example among many, once you reach a serum vitamin D level of 40 ng/mL, your risk for cancer diminishes by 67 percent compared to having a level of 20 ng/ml or less.41,42,43,44,45,46,47,48

Studies have also shown vitamin D deficiency is rampant in those with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and other autoimmune diseases. From my perspective, it is inexcusably negligent to treat a person with RA and not aggressively monitor their vitamin D levels to confirm that they are in a therapeutic range of 40 to 65 ng/mL.

As for dosage when you’re taking a supplement, the National Academy of Medicine, formerly the Institute of Medicine (IOM) recommends 600 IUs of vitamin D per day for adults. However, the IOM underestimates the need by a factor of 10 due to a mathematical error 49 that has never been corrected.

GrassrootsHealth has created a petition for the IOM and Health Canada to re-evaluate its vitamin D guidelines and correct this mathematical error.50 You can further this important cause by signing the petition on ipetitions.com. More recent research51 suggests 9,600 IUs of vitamin D per day would be required to get a majority (97.5 percent) of the population to reach 40 ng/mL.

Such levels, by the way, are not toxic. Studies have found no toxic effects up to 50,000 IUs.52 To be clear, such high amounts are typically only taken as a bolus (a large single dose) on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis for a short amount of time, NOT daily.

Your Body Is Designed to Optimize Health From Sun Exposure

The recommendation to address vitamin D deficiency with supplementation rather than sensible sun exposure really has no solid base in science. While there’s overwhelming evidence that your body knows how to process UV exposure to maximize health benefits, there’s no solid evidence supporting the notion that supplements are equivalent to sunshine.

In fact, there’s evidence suggesting the opposite: Supplements cannot provide the same benefits. For starters, while your body has built-in feedback systems that prevent sun exposure from causing unhealthy vitamin D levels, the same cannot be said for vitamin D supplements.

And, while vitamin D appears to be quite safe even at megadoses up to 50,000 IUs,53 vitamin D works in tandem with several other nutrients, including magnesium, calcium and vitamin K2; when using a supplement, you can easily force an imbalance between these nutrients.

The vitamin D produced by your body in response to UVB exposure also helps counteract the skin damage caused by UVA. There’s no evidence supplements have the same effect. Recent research54 even suggests the impact of vitamin D supplementation can be affected by gender, type of vitamin D (D2 versus D3, the former of which I do not recommend), dosing frequency and body mass index (BMI). In summary, the study found that:

  • Taking a biweekly bolus of vitamin D3 produced the greatest increase in 25-hydroxy levels, followed by the monthly bolus
  • Vitamin D3 was consistently more effective than D2 supplements when taken biweekly or monthly, whereas D2 was more effective when taken daily (I still would not recommend vitamin D2 supplements as they’re associated with other adverse effects)
  • Increases in vitamin D levels were inversely related to baseline levels, meaning those with the lowest levels saw greater increases compared to those with higher starting levels
  • Women also increased their vitamin D levels in response to supplementation to a greater degree than men
  • There appears to be a complex relationship between BMI, type of vitamin D used and the dosing schedule

What we know for sure is that your body was not designed to get its vitamin D from supplements, which are a modern invention. This alone suggests that sun exposure is the ideal way to raise your vitamin D level. For these and other reasons, vitamin D experts such as William Grant, Ph.D., and Dr. Michael F. Holick believe sensible sun exposure is far preferable to vitamin D supplementation.

Sunscreens May Sabotage Health in More Ways Than One

The scientific basis for the dermatologists’ advice to use sunscreen is also lacking. For starters, an analysis55 by epidemiologist Marianne Berwick, Ph.D., shows there’s very little evidence to suggest that sunscreen use will prevent skin cancer. After analyzing a dozen studies on basal cell carcinoma (which is typically non-lethal) and melanoma, Berwick found that people who use sunscreen are more likely to develop both of these conditions.

Only two of 10 melanoma studies found that sunscreen was protective against this condition; three found no association either way. None found sunscreen use protected against basal cell carcinoma.

The safety of the ingredients used in sunscreens is also a significant concern. Clinical laboratory scientist Elizabeth Plourde, Ph.D., warns many chemical sunscreens, especially those containing vitamin A and/or its derivatives, have been linked to an increased risk of skin cancer.56

At least nine of the sunscreen ingredients the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved are also known endocrine disruptors.57 Oxybenzone, found in 70 percent of sunscreens, is one of them. This chemical has been linked to reduced sperm count in men and endometriosis in women.58

How Much Sun Do You Need?

Safe exposure to sunshine is possible by understanding your skin type, the UV strength at the time of exposure and your duration of exposure. To determine the current strength of the sun’s rays, different calculators have been created. The late Dr. Robert Heaney,59 who studied vitamin D for more than 40 years and  was one of the most prominent leaders in the field, helped develop The D Minder app.60

There’s a Goldilocks zone in which you reap maximum rewards with minimal risk. A key guideline is to always avoid sunburn. That said, discerning just how much vitamin D you’re actually getting when you are outside is a complex formula that requires taking multiple factors into account.

It’s impossible to say that a specific number of minutes will give you a certain amount of vitamin D. The variables are just too varied, and they change from day to day, season to season. This is why it’s so important to get your vitamin D level tested, ideally twice a year, in the peak of summer and winter. There’s no other way to determine the impact your sun exposure and/or supplementation is having.

According to Heaney, your body requires 4,000 IUs daily just to maintain its current vitamin D level.61 So to actually raise your level, you’d have to increase either your exposure to sunshine or supplement with oral vitamin D3.

If you opt for a supplement, GrassrootsHealth has a helpful chart showing the average adult dose required to reach healthy vitamin D levels based on your measured starting point. Many experts agree that 35 IUs of vitamin D per pound of body weight can be used as an estimate for your ideal dose.

As for how much vitamin D you might create from sun exposure, results from a recent Spanish study suggests Spaniards can normalize their vitamin D level without risk to their health by spending 10 to 20 minutes per day, around mid-day, in the sun during spring and summer. As reported by News Medical Life Sciences:62

“In July, an individual with skin type III (the most common one among the population of Spain) must not spend more than 29 minutes in the sun if they wish to avoid erythema. However, in January, the same individual can remain in the sun for 150 minutes.”

General Guidelines for Sensible Sun Exposure to Optimize Vitamin D

The results above would apply to people living in Spain, not necessarily people living in Alaska or New England. As a general rule, the best time to get sun exposure to optimize your vitamin D levels is between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., on solar noon.

So, in the summer in most of the U.S. that is 1 p.m., not noon. You must be careful to arrange the timing to optimize your UVB exposure. If you live in Florida like I do, it is not necessary to go out at solar noon in the summer as you may overdose. Remember, the key is sensible sun exposure.

However, in the winter, when there is far less UVB, then going out around solar noon makes perfect sense. Again, the only way to determine how much vitamin D you need, either from sun exposure or supplements, is to get tested. The level you’re aiming for is 40 to 60 ng/mL. Following are more general guidelines that may still help you maximize benefits from sun exposure while mitigating the risks:

  • Know your skin type based on the Fitzpatrick skin type classification system.63 The lighter your skin, the less exposure to UV light is necessary. Lighter skin is also more vulnerable to damage from overexposure. For very fair skinned individuals and those with photodermatitis, any sun exposure may be unwanted and they should carefully measure vitamin D levels while ensuring they have an adequate intake of vitamin D, vitamin K2, magnesium and calcium
  • Always avoid sunburn. Be particularly careful if you have not been in the sun for some time. Your first exposures of the year are the most sensitive, so limit your initial time in the sun
  • Build up your tolerance by starting early in the spring and gradually increase the time you spend in the sun to avoid getting burned. Once your tolerance has been built up, aim for enough sun exposure to keep your vitamin D level around 40 to 60 ng/mL
  • Expose as much skin as you can, not just your arms and face. As soon as your skin starts to turn pink, discontinue exposure and cover up your skin to avoid burning
  • Boost your “internal sunscreen” by eating antioxidant-rich foods and healthy fats. Astaxanthin can be a helpful supplement

PROOF It Was a Democrat Senator Colluding With Russians to Influence Presidential Election!

ORIGINAL LINK

This is the absolute, concrete, and irrefutable evidence that a sitting Democrat US Senator colluded with the Russians to influence the Presidential election we have been waiting for!

How will the liberals ever be able to deny and spin this? I am sure they will try!

Ready for us to unmask the sitting Democrat US Senator that colluded with the Russians to influence the Presidential election?

Wait for it….

Wait for it….

It is none other than the late ‘great’ Senator Teddy Kennedy!

PROOF Democrat Senator Colluded With Russians to Influence Presidential Election!

PJ Media explains:

Yes, a United States senator really did collude with the Russians to influence the outcome of a presidential election.  His name was Ted Kennedy.

While Sen. Al Franken (D-Ringling Bros.) and other Democrats have the vapors over a truthful, complete, and correct answer Attorney General Jeff Sessions gave in his confirmation hearing, it’s worth remembering the reprehensible behavior of Senator Ted Kennedy in 1984.

This reprehensible behavior didn’t involve launching an Oldsmobile Delmont 88 into a tidal channel while drunk.  This reprehensible behavior was collusion with America’s most deadly enemy in an effort to defeat Ronald Reagan’s reelection.

You won’t hear much about that from CNN and the clown from Minnesota.

To recap, from Forbes:

Picking his way through the Soviet archives that Boris Yeltsin had just thrown open, in 1991 Tim Sebastian, a reporter for the London Times, came across an arresting memorandum. Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov, the top man in the entire USSR. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy.

Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. “The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations,” the memorandum stated. “These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign.”

Kennedy made Andropov a couple of specific offers.

Among the promises Kennedy made the Soviets was he that would ensure that the television networks gave the Soviet leader primetime slots to speak directly to the American people, thus undermining Reagan’s framing of the sinister nature of the USSR.  Event then, the Democrats had the power to collude with the legacy media.  Kennedy also promised to help Andropov penetrate the American message with his Soviet agitprop.

That’s right, folks.  Even 30 years ago, Democrat senators were colluding with America’s enemies to bring down Republicans.

And no, Jeff Sessions didn’t perjure himself.  It’s not even a close call.

There has been investigation after investigation looking for any evidence that Donald Trump colluded with the Russians and every one has come back blank. The liberals are all up in arms that collusion would be the greatest sin in the world.

Now that we know it was their darling Teddy Kennedy, I am sure we will hear crickets.

We always did on Chappaquiddick, yes?

Murdered DNC Staffer Seth Rich Was In Contact With Wikileaks Says Former DC Homicide Detective

ORIGINAL LINK

It's been close to a year since Seth Rich, the 27 year old computer expert who worked for the DNC, was murdered - shot twice in the back without anything of value taken from him.  Rich was found alive and in shock before he bled out - his death ruled nothing more than a botched robbery.

Many believe Rich was a victim retaliation for being the source who provided Wikileaks with DNC emails. Rumors were fueled by the odd circumstances surrounding his death, the sudden retirement of D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier five weeks after the murder, and an email John Podesta sent to Hillary's inner circle about making an example of a suspected leaker.

Podesta: "I'm definitely for making an example of a suspected leaker whether or not we have any real basis for it." https://t.co/MZ2a9gk5t3 pic.twitter.com/qQ9tO2aimY

— WikiLeaks (@wikileaks) October 30, 2016

In the aftermath of the shooting, the Rich family hired a private investigator - Rich Wheeler, a former D.C. homicide detective who says evidence on Seth Rich's laptop suggests that he was in contact with WikiLeaks prior to his death. Of note, Wheeler does not have possession of the laptop he says links Rich to Wikileaks - however he hinted that the evidence was known, and Fox reports that there will be specific information forthcoming Tuesday (5/16).

Furthermore, Wheeler believes there has been a cover-up:

"The police department nor the FBI have been forthcoming,” said Wheeler. “They haven't been cooperating at all. I believe that the answer to solving his death lies on that computer, which I believe is either at the police department or either at the FBI. I have been told both.”

When we asked Wheeler if his sources have told him there is information that links Rich to Wikileaks, he said, “Absolutely. Yeah. That's confirmed."

"I have a source inside the police department that has looked at me straight in the eye and said, ‘Rod, we were told to stand down on this case and I can’t share any information with you.’ -Fox5

So a former D.C. homicide detective, hired by the Rich family, was told directly by a source within the police force that they were told to stand down.

It also destroys the Russian hacking narrative...

Furthermore, Wheeler said there's more to come:

I don’t think it comes from the chief’s office, but I do believe there is a correlation between the mayor's office and the DNC and that is the information that will come out [Tuesday].

Assange

Let's not forget Julian Assange heavily implied that Seth Rich was the leaker, and Wikileaks offered a $130,000 reward for information leading to the murderer of Seth Rich:

Tying together with Dr. Pie's narrative

Right before the election Dr. Steve Pieczenik - ex deputy Sec. of State under Kissinger - told the world that the Wikileaks releases were part of a 'counter-coup' in which elements within the US Intelligence community decided Hillary Clinton and the globalist interests she represented couldn't be allowed to reach the Oval Office. In response, US citizens - not Russia, gave the DNC / Podesta / Hillary emails to Wikileaks for a timed release schedule during the 2016 Presidential race.

How Wikileaks changed the course of history

When the Wikileaks were released, there was no table of contents or any other guide. Instead, these were raw – DKIM verified emails, which would take nothing short of a massive crowd-sourced effort to process and decipher. Within days however, dots were rapidly being connected across various message boards – mostly 4chan and Reddit’s “The_Donald”. New discoveries reached massive audiences through digital megaphones provided by social media giants Twitter and Facebook, and eventually made it into the mainstream.

The results of the online efforts were staggering, as the world witnessed revelations of “Pay for Play” by Clinton Foundation donors who funded ISIS, the DNC cheating against Bernie Sanders, MSM collusion with the Clinton campaign, Hillary’s dreams of open borders, “unaware and compliant” citizens, #SpiritCooking, Wet Works, and evidence of Aliens and Zero Point Energy – (either that or a completely insane Edgar Mitchell (15052)).

Back to detective Wheeler and Seth Rich

If Seth Rich was in fact one of Wikileaks' sources, it's far less of a stretch to conclude that he was murdered. Moreover, what's left of the Russian hacking narrative is now - in my opinion, absolutely moot. More to come tomorrow, when this could get even more interesting.

Terrorist Confesses To Taking Part In Staged Chemical Weapons Attacks In Syria, Western Media Silent

syria-chem-attack-freemalaysiatoday-1024

By Brandon Turbeville

Before the dust settled on Khan Skeykhoun, the United States had used the alleged chemical attack that took place there as the justification for a launch of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at the al-Sha’aryat airbase in Syria. Even as the missiles were heading toward their target, it was clear that something was not right with the official U.S. government story regarding the incident. In fact, when considering all the evidence, it was clear that the Syrian military had nothing to do with the actual attack. Even more so, there were even questions regarding whether or not the attack actually took place. Now...

Scientists Reveal Fukushima Doused Everyone on Earth With Radiation

ORIGINAL LINK

When the crisis at the Fukushima power plant first began six years ago, there were legitimate fears that the radioactive particles spewing from the fuel rods could blanket the Earth. Since then the experts and the mainstream media have downplayed that possibility. Either they don’t think it’s possible, or they don’t think it’ll be significant. But recently, scientists in Norway have revealed that the radiation emitted from Fukushima really did have a global reach.

It’s been over half a decade since Japan’s Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear plant suffered a catastrophic meltdown due to the effects of a tsunami which struck the island nation, but scientists are only just now confirming its far-reaching effects. After conducting the first worldwide survey to measure the ultimate radiation exposure caused by the reactor meltdown, researchers at the Norwegian Institute for Air Research finally have a figure on exactly how much extra radiation humanity was exposed to.

According to the group’s data, over 80 percent of the radiation that was released by the meltdown ended up in either the ocean or ice at the north and south poles. Of the remaining radiation, each human on the planet received roughly 0.1 millisievert, which equates to about “one extra X-ray each,” according to the team.

Fortunately, that’s not a whole lot of radiation. That’s significantly less than the average amount of background radiation that most people receive in a year. The fact that we all received the equivalent of an x-ray isn’t alarming. What is alarming, however, is the fact that Fukushima did this, and it did it to every man and woman and child on Earth.

The reason why that’s so scary is that the Fukushima disaster is still unfolding. Earlier this year it was revealed that the level of radiation at the power plant was at its highest level since this crisis began in 2011, and the fuel rods have likely melted through their containment vessel. If this situation isn’t contained, then these fuel rods could melt into the groundwater, and spew radioactive particles into the ocean for years (or at least, more than what the power plant is already leaking into the ocean).

And we have to consider that as long as those fuel rods aren’t properly stored, they could still explode. If at any point in the next few decades, (which is how long most experts believe it’s going to take to decommission the power plant) the workers at Fukushima fail to keep the rods cool, they could become critical and cause an eruption of radioactive smoke that would spread throughout the atmosphere.

That’s why the discovery made by these Norwegian researchers should be taken seriously. We know for a fact that the radiation from Fukushima is capable of reaching everyone on our planet. So if the situation in Fukushima ever worsens, we know that there will be nowhere to run to. There will be no escaping the lethal emanations from that power plant.

"Probably More" Links Between Clinton & Russia Than Trump, GOPer Exclaims

ORIGINAL LINK

A clearly frustrated Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said Sunday that there are "probably more" connections between Hillary Clinton and Russia than there are between Moscow and President Trump.

During an interview with John Catsimatidis that aired Sunday on New York's AM 970, The Hill reports that the lawmaker said:

"I am not aware of any evidence whatsoever of any collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia or between Russia and the Trump campaign,"

"There is probably more evidence of links between Russia and the Clinton campaign than anyone even could imagine between Russia and people involved in the Trump campaign,"

Whether this was a response specifically to this week's New York Times' "Russia-Trump Nexus" op-ed desperation, or more generally the tack that Democrats nationwide seem to remain focused on is unclear. However, as Investors.com's John Merline details below, Rep. King may not be far off the facts...

The Hillary Clinton-Russia Nexus

The acting director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, told Congress on Thursday that President Trump's firing of James Comey has not derailed the agency's investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Hillary Clinton campaign. Which is good news. Despite Mrs. Clinton's assertion that the idea of collusion is "a total hoax," and despite many unknowns, the links continue to pile up. Here is a partial accounting of the connections we do know something about.

THE CLINTON FAMILY BUSINESS There may be no Clinton Foundation office in Moscow or St. Petersburg, but it is not for lack of trying. Bill Clinton received half a million dollars in 2010 for a speech he gave in Moscow, paid by a Russian firm, Renaissance Capital, that has ties to Russian intelligence. The Clinton Foundation took money from Russian officials and oligarchs, including Victor Kekselberg, a Putin confidant. The Foundation also received millions of dollars from Uranium One, which was sold to the Russian government in 2010, giving Russia control of 20% of the uranium deposits in the U.S. —  the sale required approval from Hillary Clinton's State Department. What's more, at least some of these donations weren't disclosed. "Ian Telfer, the head of the Russian government's uranium company, Uranium One, made four foreign donations totaling $2.35 million to the Clinton Foundation. Those contributions were not publicly disclosed by the Clintons, despite an agreement Mrs. Clinton had struck with the Obama White House to publicly identify all such donors," the Times has reported.

JOHN PODESTA In March — that is, long after the election was over — it was revealed that Mrs. Clinton's campaign chairman had failed to disclose the receipt of 75,000 shares of stock from a Kremlin-financed company — Joule Unlimited — for which he served as director from 2010 to 2014, when he joined the Obama White House in 2014. Podesta apparently had a large chunk of the shares transferred to "Leonidio Holdings, a brand-new entity he incorporated only on Dec. 20, 2013, about 10 days before he entered the White House," according to a news account.

TONY PODESTA Mr. Podesta's bother, who has close personal and business relations with Mrs. Clinton, was "key lobbyist on behalf of Sberbank, according to Senate lobbying disclosure forms. His firm received more than $24 million in fees in 2016, much of it coming from foreign governments, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics," a March news story reported. The bank was "seeking to end one of the Obama administration's economic sanctions against that country." The report goes on to note that "Podesta's efforts were a key part of under-the-radar lobbying during the 2016 U.S. presidential campaign led mainly by veteran Democratic strategists to remove sanctions against Sberbank and VTB Capital, Russia's second largest bank." Mr. Obama imposed the sanctions following the Russian seizure of the Crimean region of Ukraine in 2014.

JOHN BREAUX Forbes magazine reports that Mr. Breaux, a former Senator from Louisiana who cut radio ads for Mrs. Clinton's 2008 campaign, represents Gazprombank GPB, a subsidiary of Russia's third largest bank, on "banking laws and regulations, including applicable sanctions."

THE CLINTON CAMPAIGN In March, Mr. Putin's spokesman said that Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak met with members of Mrs. Clinton's campaign several times while she was running for president in 2016. Further, the campaign never disclosed the number or nature of these secret meetings.

Mrs. Clinton and her associates can cry themselves hoarse that there is neither smoke nor fire here, and that Putin was behind her election loss. But all in all, the known facts suggest an unusually extensive network of relationships with a major foreign power. Anyone who cares about the credibility of the American electoral process should want a thorough investigation.

Finally, The Hill notes that King also pushed back on the criticism surrounding Trump's decision to fire FBI Director James Comey, maintaining that any investigation relating to Russia would be handled by senior officials in the FBI, not Comey.

"If you are going to be accusing the president of the United States of treason, you better know what you are talking about," he said. "So far, none of these people know what they are talking about."

The lawmaker also said that he is "convinced" that Trump will take a tough geopolitical stance against Putin in the future.

"Putin, whether it's the Ukraine, whether it's Syria, whether it's flying jets too close to the United States… Putin has to realize he cannot be getting away with this, and that Donald Trump is very serious about standing up to Russia, which I am convinced he is."

Which is interesting given the rather pointed statement aimed at Russia last night with regard the North Korea missile test-launch...

“It’s very important we hear what Putin has to say”

The man behind three films about American presidents, Oliver Stone, says his upcoming feature about Russian President Vladimir Putin “opens up a whole viewpoint that we as Americans haven’t heard,” and could help prevent “a dangerous situation – on the brink of war.”

Academy Award-winning director and revered documentary filmmaker Stone said in interview with the Sydney Morning Herald that his new film about Putin will be released soon. “It’s not a documentary as much as a question and answer session,” he said. “Mr. Putin is one of the most important leaders in the world and in so far as the United States has declared him an enemy – a great enemy – I think it’s very important we hear what he has to say.”

The film will present Putin’s viewpoint of political events since he was first elected president of Russia in March 2000.

“It opens up a whole viewpoint that we as Americans haven’t heard,” Stone told the newspaper, adding that his crew went to see the indefatigable Russian leader four times over the course of two years.

“I talked to him originally about the Snowden affair, which is in the film. And out of that grew, I think, a trust that he knew that I would not edit it so much,” he said, adding that Putin “talks pretty straight.”

“I think we did him the justice of putting [his comments] into a Western narrative that could explain their viewpoint in the hopes that it will prevent continued misunderstanding and a dangerous situation – on the brink of war.”

The 70-year-old director also commented the accusations of Russian influence on the US presidential elections. “That’s a path that leads nowhere to my mind. That’s an internal war of politics in the US in which the Democratic Party has taken a suicide pact or something to blow him up; in other words, to completely de-legitimize him and in so doing blow up the US essentially. “What they’re doing is destroying the trust that exists between people and government. It’s a very dangerous position to make accusations you cannot prove,” he added.

Stone also said does not believe claims circulating in the mainstream media that Moscow allegedly passed some classified documents to WikiLeaks in a bid to influence the November US elections. “I hold [WikiLeaks editor Julian] Assange in high regard in many issues of state. I take very seriously his statement that he received no information from Russia or any state actors,” Stone said.

WikiLeaks published over 250,000 classified US military and diplomatic documents in 2010 in a move that amounted to the largest information leak in United States history. Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State when WikiLeaks published ‘Cablegate’. Assange has been stuck inside the Ecuadorian embassy since he took refuge there in June 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden where he is wanted for questioning by the authorities regarding allegations of sexual assault against two women in 2010.

“For 10 years now he’s been a beacon of integrity and honesty,” Stone noted. “He’s been very helpful to understand the world to those who pay attention. “Unfortunately, his reports sometimes get too thick and too difficult to understand, but I don’t think the media has done him any favors really by playing along and accusing him of rape and holding him on these bogus charges. This is scary behavior but it’s also unlawful.”

Stone’s latest movie revolved around NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, who became world-renown figure after leading classified documents detailing the surveillance programs of the US intelligence agencies and its allies in 2013. Stone met him in person in Russia, where Snowden was granted political asylum.

The director said Washington’s unprecedented move towards far-reaching surveillance technology is utterly wrong.

“I think we’ve had a lot of false information – fake news as they say – used for political ideological purposes. In other words, the US has been able, because of this technology, to say without any doubt Russia hacked the election. This is coming from who? From the intelligence agencies that are fighting against Russia with all their hearts and minds. They can’t be trusted. This is important to recognize. I think the Snowden movie shows why they cannot be trusted.”

Amid a US military buildup in response to the North Korean nuclear threat, Stone told the Sydney Morning Herald he is also concerned by where US attacks on Syria and Afghanistan might lead. “The United States is spending on defense and security almost a trillion dollars a year, which is more than all the countries in the world spend on security and the military. It’s inexcusable to people who examine this rationally.”
