Gallup: Confidence in K-12 education plunges 'drastically'

New polling results released by Gallup show that back around 2004 more respondents to a poll were satisfied with K-12 education in the U.S. than dissatisfied.

That happened again, briefly, around 2019.

But not for a majority of the past 20-plus years and certain not now.

The results drew the comment from Just the News that barely one-quarter of Americans – actually 28% -- trust the public school system.

Most of the time over the last 20 years those who have been unhappy with public schools have outnumbered those who like the system roughly 54-44.

The report explained, "The confidence Americans have in the United States public school system has fallen drastically and is currently close to the all-time low of 26% recorded in 2014."

Only 28% said they have a great deal of confidence, or quite a lot of confidence, in schools.

"Trust has fallen sharply since the all-time high of 62% in 1975, though it briefly rebounded to 41% in 2020. In 2021, the rate of trust fell nearly 10 percentage points to 32%, and dropped again to 28% in 2022," the poll said.

The last two years have been marked by the closure of most schools because of COVID-19, and the resulting online classes for many students.

What that meant was that parents actually could hear and see what public school teachers were doing – and many justifiable objected to leftist indoctrination being delivered to their children.

That resulted in teachers trying, mostly unsuccessfully, to have parents banned from listening to or watching those classes along with their children.

"The poll illustrates the differing degrees of trust held by the country's two major political parties," Just the News commented. "Among Democrats, 43% say they have confidence in the school system, compared to just 14% of Republicans. The rate among independents is 29%."

The developments in recent years have boosted those in the GOP who have little faith in the leftist schools, where decisions often are made for curriculum and such by activists in the leftist teachers' unions.

"Republican faith in the public schools has nosedived in recent years. Since 2020, an 8-point gap between Republicans reporting their trust in the system as 'very little/none' and those reporting 'a great deal/a lot' of trust has widened into a 36-point gap," the report said.

The survey also revealed 12% of respondents say their school-aged children have worried about safety in schools, 21% say racial segregation is very serious, and 53% say the government needs to address that.

The significance of a college education is declining, with only 53% saying it is very important today, down from 70% in 2013.

And while almost two-thirds like the ideas of free community colleges and free four-year universities, only a fraction believed the government would be able to pay the costs of those programs.

Daily Caller News Foundation

  • Former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos believes Republicans need to focus on five points of reform for the American education system, with the most important being educational freedom.
  • “The last two years, children have been held hostage to this cause or these multiple causes and a system that too many of them cannot escape,” DeVos told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
  • DeVos believes there is still a pathway for Republicans to eliminate the Department of Education and they should take it.

The Biden administration’s damage to public education can be undone by Republicans with a few important reforms, former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

DeVos has a five-point plan to reform education that Republicans should campaign on now and implement when they retake Congress, she told the DCNF. The five points include education freedom, eliminating the Department of Education (DOE), supporting multiple pathways to post-K-12 education, federal student aid reform and restoring Title IX.

DeVos told the DCNF that educational freedom, or the ability of parents to send their children to a wider array of schools, is the most important reform. A free education environment will allow students to receive funds to transfer from public schools to different education options such as charter schools, private schools and homeschooling, DeVos explained.

“The last two years, children have been held hostage to this cause or these multiple causes and a system that too many of them cannot escape,” DeVos told the DCNF. “The solution to that is to have policies that will actually allow the resources to follow the family, to follow the child, to wherever their family decides they’re going to learn best.”

While the Trump administration failed to significantly shrink the DOE, DeVos believes it is still possible and necessary for Republicans to do, she told the DCNF.

“Shrink or do away with the Department of Education. I think that Republicans have talked about it for many, many years, but I think it actually would be feasible to do, practically speaking, by blocking grants to the states, which is what we proposed, in the last two years of our budget and presented to Congress to debate. There was some interest among Republicans but not enough to get a lot of airspeed,” DeVos told the DCNF. “Just watching how the system has performed or not performed the last two years, I think makes this argument of shrinking the department to be much more potent.”

As college enrollment is down nationwide, DeVos believes apprenticeship programs need to be expanded because it benefits young people to learn through experience, she said to the DCNF.

“We need to be supporting multiple pathways post-K-12 years, including expanding apprenticeship opportunities. The Trump administration established an industry that recognized apprenticeship programs, which then the Biden administration immediately did away with because it didn’t require participants to be union members,” DeVos told the DCNF.

Reversing Biden’s Title IX changes is another important issue for DeVos because of the way Biden’s plans will fundamentally change women’s sports, she told the DCNF. The Biden administration’s proposed extension of Title IX could make public schools let biological men participate in women’s sports and share the same locker rooms as the female athletes.

DeVos elaborates on her plan to save the American education system, as well her time in the Trump administration, in her book “Hostages No More,” which was released on June 21.

“The American creativity, ingenuity and entrepreneurship is going to more than rise to the occasion when families are empowered with those resources to make those decisions and choices for their kids,” DeVos told the DCNF.

PURE POISON: Covid Shots Affected NEARLY HALF (42%) of Women’s Menstrual Cycles (Updated)

ORIGINAL LINK

Can you imagine any other product with side effects of excessive bleeding and affecting 42% of menstruating women allowed on the market?

They are poisoning the women!

And the men have lowered sperm counts.

Yet, Dr. Fauci, the CDC, and Big Pharma are still pushing these poison shots.

The latest study on the COVID vaccines found that nearly half of women’s menstruation cycles were affected.

9News reported:

COVID-19 vaccines were found to affect about 42 per cent of women’s menstrual cycles in a new study run by Washington University.

The study, which sought to shed light on reports of unusual menstrual bleeding after receiving SARS-CoV-2 vaccination, surveyed more than 39,129 adults online after they were double-vaccinated against the virus.

It found that 42 per cent of people with regular menstrual cycles bled more heavily during their period after having the vaccinations than they had previously.

It further found that some people who do not usually menstruate, such as those on long-acting reversible contraceptives or gender-affirming hormones and those who have experienced menopause, reported breakthrough bleeding.

As we reported earlier today — In April 2021, The Gateway Pundit first reported on the tens of thousands of women who complained about irregular menstruation after taking the COVID vaccines.

Researchers are investigating the link between COVID and menstruation after THOUSANDS of women reported changes to their cycle after getting the coronavirus vaccine.

NBC Chicago reported:

Thousands of women have reported changes to their monthly cycle after getting the COVID vaccine.

Anne Thompson received her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine April 12, on what should have been the last day of her period.

“I continued to have spotting the entire time. And now two weeks post getting the vaccine, I think it was three days ago, I started my period again,” Thompson said.

Her next period came a week a half early, prompting Thompson to wonder if the vaccine had somehow impacted her menstrual cycle.

It’s a question researcher Katherine Lee asked after her own experience.

”I had spotting when I normally don’t have any sort of menstrual symptoms, because I have the Mirena IUD,” said Lee, a postdoctoral research scholar in the Division of Public Health Sciences at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Lee reached out to Kate Clancy, an associate professor of Anthropology at the University of Illinois, who then tweeted about it.

“That tweet was sent February 24th, and I’m still getting, like, every minute an additional 20 notifications, that have some kind of engagement with that thread two months later,” Clancy said.

The overwhelming response prompted the researchers to create a survey, which they posted on social media. In all, 59,000 people have started the survey, describing varying experiences.

“People are reporting some differences in the timing of their cycle,” Lee said. “Some people report much lighter periods and other people report a much heavier period.”

Clancy said researchers have also heard about bleeding and spotting for postmenopausal women.

One woman emailed NBC 5’s Lauren Petty and said she has been menopausal for nine years. She got her first Pfizer dose in March, started bleeding that night, and it continued for 10 days.

“I honestly haven’t had many of my patients complain about any irregularities in their menstruation,” said Dr. Elizabeth Yepez, a gynecologist at Rush University Medical Center.

It has now been a year and the scientific community is now reporting on this vaccine side effect.

NY Times FINALLY Admits a Year After Gateway Pundit that the Experimental COVID Vaccine May Affect Menstruation

ORIGINAL LINK

It may take months or years but every once in a while The New York Times will actually publish a factual report or a partly factual report on the COVID vaccines.

The New York Times reported on a “new” study — the largest to date — that shows how the experimental COVID vaccines may affect menstruation. The NY Times then insists that – based on the findings – there is no cause for alarm.

That is clearly an assumption and not a fact.

NIH, FDA & CDC Employees Quitting In Droves Over Infant Covid Vaccines

ORIGINAL LINK

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Doctors and scientists at the top levels of the NIH, FDA and CDC are leaving their positions in the federal government over the recent approval of Covid shots for infants and boosters for kids.

Moderna's vaccine had a 4 (four) percent efficacy against asymp Covid in kids 6mo-2yrs of age. I admire the many health experts within the NIH & CDC who are outraged and spoke to me. Our liberty as physicians to speak up should always be sacred & protected https://t.co/qNksowUOmn

— Marty Makary MD, MPH (@MartyMakary) July 15, 2022

An article published Thursday by Johns Hopkins professor Marty Makary M.D., M.P.H. and consultant epidemiologist with Florida Department of Health Tracy Beth Høeg M.D., Ph.D. detailed the concerns of the health experts.

A senior FDA official told the doctors, “It’s like a horror movie I’m being forced to watch and I can’t close my eyes. People are getting bad advice and we can’t say anything.”

The “bad advice” the FDA doctor referred to is the lack of clinical data supporting the use of Covid jabs in Americans aged 6 months to five years old.

The FDA doctor was also upset the agency bypassed external experts in authorizing booster shots for kids.

The article continued to note top officials at the NIH’s Vaccine Research Center have quit over the past year, including the director, deputy director and chief medical officer.

An NIH scientist told Makary and Høeg, “There’s an enormous number of jobs opening up at the highest level positions.”

A pair of CDC officials said their agency is also suffering from low morale and that employees are tired of the politicization of their work.

“There’s been a large amount of turnover. Morale is low,” a high-level CDC official noted. “Things have become so political, so what are we there for?”

A CDC scientist told the doctors, “I used to be proud to tell people I work at the CDC. Now I’m embarrassed.”

Explaining why the experts would be “embarrassed,” the article stated, “The heads of their agencies are using weak or flawed data to make critically important public health decisions.”

One of the CDC scientists who talked with the doctors said the agency “failed to balance the risks of Covid with other risks that come from closing schools. Learning loss, mental health exacerbations were obvious early on and those worsened as the guidance insisted on keeping schools virtual. CDC guidance worsened racial equity for generations to come. It failed this generation of children.”

The top issue voiced by the whistleblowers inside the federal government was the weak data used to support vaccinating kids and infants with the experimental Covid shots.

“You can inject them with it or squirt it in their face, and you’ll get the same benefit,” a top CDC employee joked when discussing the efficacy of the Pfizer shot.

“It seems criminal that we put out the recommendation to give mRNA Covid vaccines to babies without good data. We really don’t know what the risks are yet. So why push it so hard?” a CDC physician asked the doctors.

A high-level FDA official made a similar comment, telling Makary and Høeg, “The public has no idea how bad this data really is. It would not pass muster for any other authorization.”

In addition to being highly concerned about the rollout of the mRNA shots for babies and children, agency officials, scientists and doctors are worried they’ll be punished for speaking out.

“There’s a silence, an unwillingness for agency scientists to say anything. Even though they know that some of what’s being said out of the agency is absurd,” an NIH scientist said.

A workplace environment where employees are afraid to speak about things like natural immunity or weak clinical data does not reflect an organization that follows science.

On Friday, Dr. Peter McCullough posted a clip of Fox News host Tucker Carlson exposing the CDC, FDA, NIH failures throughout the Covid pandemic.

CDC/FDA/NIH has been wrong on virtually every aspect of pandemic response, yet no one has admitted to a weary American public so they can move on, close this chapter. Current illness indistinguishable from recurrent common cold, worse for duped #jected. @TuckerCarlson @FoxNews pic.twitter.com/fpKnx9ESp1

Perhaps it’s time for some of these anonymous individuals to go public because the health of America’s youth may be on the line.
