Fake News NYT Claims the Forceful Overthrowing of the Sri Lankan Government Was “Relatively Low Key and Polite… Much More Peaceful” Than January 6th

The fake news factory that is the New York Times is in need of a serious update for its longstanding tagline. If they were honest, it would read: “all the propaganda that’s fit to print.”

In the wake of the complete collapse of Sri Lanka’s economy and government, the hucksters at NYT had the nerve to describe the people’s forceful overthrow of the country’s failed leadership as “relatively low key and polite” in comparison to other similar uprisings.

Not only that but there was apparently a comedic quality to the whole thing, according to NYT’s German Lopez.

Essentially, the massive revolt, which saw what looked like hundreds of thousands of enraged citizens storm Sri Lanka’s presidential palace and surrounding government buildings, was – to take a page from CNN’s Orwellian playbook – a ‘mostly peaceful’ insurrection.

And, just like the ‘mostly peaceful’ George Floyd riots, Sri Lankans were torching buildings en mass. But, unlike BLM who became violent because of a false narrative, Sri Lankans had a more legitimate reason for their uprising, mainly the globalist-aligned, systematic destruction of their economy in the name of the WEF’s Agenda 2030.

According to BBC World News, as many as 38 elected officials’ homes – and counting – were set ablaze during the riots.

Nevertheless, Lopez ridiculously compared the Sri Lankan uprising to the events that took place on January 6th, which he of course posited as an “insurrection.” According to Lopez and his hack editors, the forceful overthrowing of the government in Sri Lanka was “much more peaceful” than a couple of hundred trump supporters being allowed into the capitol on 1/6.

It’s also worth pointing out that the only people who were killed during the 1/6 incident were four Trump supporters – Rosanne Boyland and Ashli Babbitt – both of which perished at the hands of law enforcement officers and two other middle aged men.

Unsurprisingly, that doesn’t factor in one bit for the NYT, which is still pushing Pelosi’s garbage show trials as legitimate.

From NYT:

“So it [Sri Lankan uprising] was an atmosphere of joy and disbelief, with a bit of absurdity and a bit of comedy thrown in – a very Sri Lankan revolution, very low-key and polite.

I can’t help to compare this to the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. This seemed much more peaceful.”

Yes, it was so peaceful that Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapakse fled the country in such a hurry that he left all his belongings behind (save a suitcase) and was forced to resign in disgrace by email.

In comparison, the 1/6 ‘insurrection’ was so devastating to ‘democracy’ that the DC Swamp reconvened just hours after people first entered the capitol, and rammed through the fraudulent slate of electors to certify the election. Proceedings weren’t even interrupted for more than 5 hours.

Oh, and hundreds of Americans are being unconstitutionally persecuted for it, which is meaningless to the NYT. They are too busy getting a chuckle out of the ‘joyous’ “atmosphere” of the “very Sri Lankan revolution.”

What a joke. As comedian Tim Young (TimRunsHisMouth) points out – “You can’t make this up.”

Young shared the following on Twitter:

“You can’t make this up! The New York Times says that Sri Lankans forcefully overthrowing their government was ‘much more peaceful’ than January 6th.

And I bet they still wonder why they’re called Fake News.”

Following his laughable comparison, Lopez then attempts to justify his BS by baselessly asserting that there were several differences between the two incidents. His main distinction is that nobody was “armed” in the Sri Lankan uprising, therefore it was more peaceful. However, court records show that only one individual who entered the Capitol on 1/6 was armed at the time. And, again, the only one who was killed by a firearm was a Trump supporter.

Additionally, just because Sri Lanka doesn’t have the benefit of the 2nd Amendment, doesn’t mean that the people weren’t “armed.” Many had weapons in the form of blunt objects and projectiles, and a large number used arson as part of the uprising.

What’s more, Lopez also defined the Sri Lankan uprising as being “spontaneous,” and pointed out that they were not acting under a “clear leader.” In other words, it’s exactly the same case as the 1/6 incident at the Capitol. As has been proven repeatedly, Trump did not instruct the masses to storm the Capitol. And, no matter how hard they try, they can not pin the “leadership” moniker on groups like the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers.

Just like Sri Lanka, 1/6 was an unorganized, spontaneous uprising, but not according to the propaganda peddling NYT.

NYT continued:

“There were several differences [between 1/6 and Sri Lanka]. For one, these people [in Sri Lanka] were not armed. It was also a bit spontaneous, and there was no clear leader. They did not do it in association with any politician or political party.”

One thing’s for sure – you can always count on NYT to deliver Fake News at its finest.
