With the latest declaration of US nuclear strategy, Washington says it will respond with nuclear weapons to a non-nuclear threat if Washington thinks US and NATO security is involved. Some officials have said that it is not in Washington’s national security interest for Russia to prevail in Ukraine. The implication is that Washington would respond with nuclear weapons.
