It turns out that in addition to Russia and Ukraine, Trinidad and Tabago are the sole other producers of any size of ammonium nitrate . The US has only CF Industries, which is being essentially shuttered by Union Pacific. Why they have not employed a fleet of trucks I do not understand. Discussion below the link and article.

There seem to be multiple parts to the story. One is monopolistic behavior by UP. Go figure, a monopoly acting like a monopoly.
The other is a result of the “trade war” and the actions started back in 2020 – take that Trinidad and Tabago!

Interested parties are invited to comment on this preliminary determination” (federalregister.gov).Sure, if they were dumping, we need to put a stop to it. But maybe right now with all the issues in the food supply chain, this is not the time to increase the coming starvation just to punish them. I’m pretty sure we have other ways to get the message across to this formidable foe.
I say again, the goal is mass starvation. Everything follows that goal.
